Timber Point Golf & Country Club

Original post by gilgo31

I am having my reception at Timber Point in Great River. I love the location (and the view of the bay), but I'm a little concerned about the food quality. I went to a tasting 2 weeks ago and some of the appetizers tasted rather bland. Is anyone else having a reception there (my wedding is June 12, 2004), or has anyone else had a reception there? Any problems with service? It seems great, but I guess I'm looking for reassurance. Thanks.

Re: Timber Point Golf & Country Club

I'm back....it's looking real good girls!!! Apparently, the cocktail hour room has different wallpaper than the main ballroom. The CH room is a cream color with cranberry color pattern...similar to what was there before the renovations....a viney type with birds. The main doorway to the ballroom has been squared off and when you look straight through, the doors to the patio have been put in line with the main doorway. It seems alot brighter, the paint color of the bottom half of the walls is really nice..hard to describe the color. The carpet is down. The stairs were bare and the bridal room was being done as well. I'll try to get pics developed tonight, the digital died!!!! We are doing our menu on Tuesday with Michael Lessing

leeleelee - got your FM and am posting my response here for all to read.

i am the one you read who said she has both positive and negative about TPCC. i was married there in august of this year.

all the negative was a result of lenore. she screwed up my menu (WHO FEEDS A VEGETARIAN BRIDE PENNE ALLA VODKA WITHOUT TELLING HER THERE IS HAM IN IT?!??!) my maitre d' came running up to me once he realized what was going on, but it was too late, i had already eaten it.

my bf who was one of my bm is a vegan, and lenore told me one of the appetizers was vegan, but the server told my bf that it had sausage in it, which the maitre d' confirmed.

lenore also screwed up my maitre d'. she promised me isaih, who i had requested, and then two days prior when i went to drop off my final payment and all the other goodies, she tells me steve is my maitre d', like it was expected all along. when i asked what happened to isaih, she told me she never promised me, blah, blah, blah.

steve did an excellent job, btw. he is superb. what ticked me off was not steve, it was all lenore.

ben was great to work with, up until the end. he was supposed to straighten out the steve/isaih thing which he didn't, and no one called me back like they were supposed to. so i walked into my reception not knowing what to expect. and then they server me meat. good grief.

but all went well otherwise and everyone had a great time.

also, i did not use the house florist. i did not respond positively to the treatment they gave me. fm me if you want the florist i used, she was spectacular.

Thanks for the feedback Smooch! Sorry it all didn't all go well but glad to hear everything else went smoothly! I will definitely not be working with Lenore after hearing all this. I will definitely FM you about the florist - Thanks again!!

Thanks!
I was at TPCC on Saturday and It is amazing! It took my breath away. The place is perfect! i love the decor, colors, china, linons, view location everything.
Also the back patio is being redone in all brick. He said it is going to be amazing. I do know that they are also changing the wallpaper in the cocktail room to match the hallway. The striped paper.
This will be done by my date in 05 but I not sure about this year. He said when the weather breaks this year they will start work on the patio.
Ohh... BTW Ben is great!

Ladybug63 - Ben said that as soon as the weather gets warmer they're re-doing the patio and outside (new canopy in the back, new furniture, etc..) so as far as I know it will be done by this summer.... :)

My friend got married there at the end of last year and the food was superb! You have nothing to worry about. Also, she had a chocolate fountain for dessert which was a huge hit.

Good luck!

I am using the house vendor for my flowers - M&F Florist. I know most girls didn't go with them, but I found Barbara a fantastic help. She even made a sample of my MOH BoK for the Timber Point showcase last month and it was gorgeous.

As for the c-pieces included they are ok. I wanted something specific and it would have been more expensive if I went with the house florist but they give you like 4 or five options.
This a pic very similar to what they include only with less flowers. 6 roses, baby's breath and filler is what they provide. Certain colors are not available and you can change the baby's breath to that purple stuff if you want.
