I am a super-light sleeper and once I'm up, I'm up!!
FH gets up at 4:15-4:30 for work and I get up at 5:30...my fear is that I'll be getting up when HIS alarm goes off and not be able to fall back to sleep.

Re: Time you get up versus FH
I get up at 6:30 to go on the treadmill before work. FH works nights (eventhough that will be changing next week ) But he usually wakes up at 1pm!

Re: Time you get up versus FH
Right now, FH gets up 3:45ish. Later if he drives in on Sundays. He works Sunday-Thursday. I get up at 5:15. I have trained myself to just go back to sleep as soon as he is done getting ready.
The problem lies in the time we go to sleep. He is in bed by 8:30. I don't mind laying in bed early but I like the lights on and to watch TV or read. I usually don't go to sleep until 11 or 11:30.

Re: Time you get up versus FH
I will always be up earlier than Fh...I wake up at 5am and he wakes up at 7am...however...I am a teacher and he is not, so when we finally do live together, he will be waking up earlier during the summer

Re: Time you get up versus FH
i wake up at 5:45 and DH wakes up . . WHENEVER HE FEELS LIKE IT!
His business is seasonal so right now he doesn't go into work unless he is bored.
Once the summer comes we will be competing for bathroom time and that is going to STINK i may actually start waking up at 5AM to avoid that
I KNOW i am going to hate hearing his alarm on the weekends. .. at first i thought i would never go back to sleep BUT i realized i quickly got used to sharing a bed with someone - the first few nights i would wake up when he came to bed and now i dont even realize when he does!

I'm figuring I'll get used to it too, or at least am hoping I do! I know that when his alarm goes off that early on a Saturday that I'll definitely be heading back to bed! lol

it's funny you mention going TO bed....I feel that this is going to hard too because I CANNOT fall asleep with lights on OR the TV on...like I said, I'm such a light sleeper that I wake up with any sound. FH on the other hand cannot fall alseep without having the TV ON!!!

Re: Time you get up versus FH
I get up at 5am and FH gets up at 6:30. On Saturdays, I dont wake up but he gets up at 6:30, I normall fall back asleep after yell at him to shut his alarm off and get out of bed.
As for falling asleep, I require a lot more sleep then him, so I go to bed around 9pm and I have to fall asleep to the TV on. He comes in around 10/10:30 and shuts the TV off so he can go to bed. The nights when we do end up going to bed together, its a battle over TV or no TV, I normally win!

Re: Time you get up versus FH
You'll definitely get used to the time difference with getting up and going to bed. It may wake you up in the beginning, but like Tilde says, it doesn't take that long to not even notice when he gets in/out of bed....or vice versa.
Right now i get up at 6 and the FH gets up when I get out of the shower and am done with the bathroom. We almost always are in bed the same time...but occasionally he stays up to watch TV in the livingroom (one thing we both agreed on was no TV in the bedroom). I don't notice at all when he comes to bed those nights...i'll usually ask him in the morning what time he crawled in bed cause I didn't even wake up...and i'm also a VERY light sleeper.

Wow, that would be great...getting up at 7:45/8!!! I start teaching my first class at 8, so I'm in the school building anywhere between 7:20 and 7:30 to get my Aim/Do Now and HW up for 1st period.

I am interested to know the difference in time there is between when you get up for work and when FH gets up for work. What sparked this question is the fact that the registry stalker that I am, just realized that our dual alarm clock is purchased and I'm so excited!!!!!
For those of you that either live with FH now or will live with him soon since WE ARE GETTING MARRIED SOON ENOUGH 08'ERSS (LOL had to throw that in), how do you or think you will be able to adjust to the ringing of an alarm earlier than yours??

A dual alarm clock...awesome idea! I am totally adding that to my registry right now!! As for waking up, I get up at 5:30 and FH doesn't get up until 10 (he works late hours)....I am a teacher, and by 3rd period, he's still sleeping!!

Aww :( FH is in Manhattan, after driving in, when I get up. I call him to say good morning and am all groggy and he's like GOODD MORNING BABEEE lol He's a better man than I! lol
Yup, it was actually FH's doing to look for a dual alarm clock..I didn't even know they existed. We found one that is not a huge, monstrous sized-alarm clock at Fortunoff's just so you know

Re: Time you get up versus FH
We are very lucky that we get up at the same time most days. On the days that one of us has to get early we try to shut the alarm quick and keep quiet

Re: Time you get up versus FH
we actually usually get up at the same time. Once in a while he has to leave earlier but not by much and ill wake him up while im still in bed and then ill usually end up getting up soon after. And although we leave around the same time, he always gets home earlier than me and sometimes alot earlier, quite often actually
