Tipping

Tipping

I'm a bit confused as to how this works on the wedding day. Let's say for photography you have 2 photographers... does each separate photographer get 18% of the total cost or do you divide it by the 2 people? Same question for DJ if you have DJ and MC - is it 18% of the total or divided? I can see this getting very expensive as the list of vendors goes on... how does it work? I would imagine you want to be most careful about not undertipping the photographer more than any other vendor b/c they still have work to do for you after the wedding (albums, prints, etc). Since you are also feeding the DJ and photographer does that count toward the tip - probably not, right? Just trying to figure out how much cash will be needed the day of. For things like ceremony musicians - can you put the tip in the same envelope as the balance due? There's a vendor with more than 2 people that will be present - do all 3 get 18%?

Hi!

I did a flat rate for certain vendors, but I did tip per individual. For example, if I had 3 musicians for the ceremony music, I gave like $50 per person or something like that.

Food does not count towards the tip

It does get pricey. However, the saving grace is that you do not have to tip owners of businesses.
