So...after booking my limo today I starting thinking about gratuities... so now at 1am I started calculating some things and I think I almost just passed out!
So a lot of the wedding websites/books etc suggestion percentages to tip....and when I just calculated it out, I'd be tipping my DJ like $450, my banquet manager and bridal attendant into the thousands if it really is 10% of the catering bill!!!
Obviously I'd go broke if I really tipped people based on percentages of the total price of their services!
Have any of you decided what you will be tipping people? Do you have a set dollar amount? Or will you be doing percentages?

Am I missing anyone? For those listed above, what are you thinking about tipping?
I think I'm going to break the bank on this one!

Re: Tipping
What about a day of coordinator? I am not sure on this one, I mean you are paying them for a service, but should you tip them too?

Re: Tipping
From what I've read and heard, It's usually within 3-5 dollars pp gratuity for BM's and Bridal Attendants. So if you're hypothetically inviting 150 ppl it should be between the$500-$700 range. For DJ's it is optional to tip but of course since they are providing you the service it is within your discretion to give them something extra, but I think $450.00 to tip is a bit much. For your transportation, most companies would add the gratuity in the bill but if the driver provided service which is above and beyond $50.0-$100.00 should suffice, also depending the size of your party being transported. Bartenders, coat checks, etc...you can give them $50.00 to $100.00 in advance if you'd like but remember they'll be receiving tips from your guests as well throughout the entire duration of your party. I hope this helps.

Re: Tipping
My FH is in a wedding band, and when he gets tips, he takes home $40-50 dollars, and it is a 10 piece band, so I guess that means people tip $400-$500 dollars?
Hope that helps. I don't know much about the other vendors-but I would like to know..
What about the photographer?

Do you have a videographer?
yep! Just another one to add on the list!
I am just unsure if we should be tipping a standard amount, or a percentage of what we paid them!!
