Tipping - do you think this would be rude

Tipping - do you think this would be rude

I have completely lost confidence in my main photographer. Now that the wedding is getting closer, they are not responding to my calls. And I'm starting to get attitude from the secretary.

I plan on tipping the photographer once I see the pictures, not when he completes the work for the day. I want to see his product before I pay him any more. I do not think he deserves a tip at this point, and I plan on making him earn it. I'm paying a lot for this vendor - I demand a comparable level of service.

I'm slighly concerned it will piss him off and cause him to give me crappy pictures anyway.

advice please.

I think you absolutely can tip them after you see the photos. Some people send a 'Thank You' card to vendors, and that's when you can add the 'thank you' tip when you've decided you love your photos.

Tips are usually given that night, but are totally optional. there are plenty of times vendors do not get tipped. It's a bonus if they do.

I think it's fine, and I'm sorry about the poor customer service you're receiving before your wedding. That really stinks.

I think tipping him only after youve seen the proofs is totally fine

I was thinking about that but then I thought what if they do something to my pictures or give me less proofs because I didn't tip them right after the wedding?

Right! I am going to tip that night..they are in charge of your pics...I would be nervous but make sure you tell him sorry you will be tipping when you pick up the pictures just to make sure he knows..these days they expect to get tipped right after the wedding

I agree with you 100%

I planned on doing the same thing- tipping when I got my completed, final product. But, my photog took SO LONG getting me some prints that he promised, I decided that there would be no tip
