What about limo drivers, a bridal attendant if you have one, the florist when they deliver the flowers.

Re: tipping..... my list

Hair/makeup/nails - usually 15-20% of the service cost.

Any delivery person, like florists, bakery, etc. Usually $10-20 per person.

Any coatroom/restroom attendants? $0.50-$1 per guest.

Hm, if it's $50.00 for hair/makeup, the tip should be $7.5-$10 from each girl, right?

# Banquet Manager, Maitre d': This is where it's very important to check if you're already paying a service charge. If gratuity is not included in your bill total, figure from $200 to $300 as a tip, depending on the size of your wedding. This amount should go to the person in charge of your reception; if there's more than one person in charge, divide the gratuity among them.'

they all charge a 18% gratuity includied in the bill BUT i do belive we still have to tip the maitre d

I think Katrina started a different thread where it said the maitre d' normally gets $3-5 per person? We didn't have one so I don't know what the normal amount is.

I know this is silly, but why do you have to tip your photographer and DJ? You are paying them already. I understand coat check and limo and hair/nails. Plus u are paying for them to have dinner.

I dont mean to sound cheap, but I feel like if you are paying someone $1000 thats what they get, they shouldn't get $1000 + $100 tip, if that is the case then why not just charge me $1100?

Also, why do you have to pay on top of the included service charges?

A tip is generally an extra for a job well-done. It is especially important if your photographer/DJ doesn't own his own business. If they do own their own business, then you don't have to give them a tip or you can give a smaller one. If they are working for other people, it's nice to give them a tip that they can keep because whatever you're paying them goes to the owner of the business.

Re: tipping..... my list

I know it all makes sense and good point if they dont own their own business.

I just feel like it would make everyone's lives easier to just include the tip, then no one would have to worry if its $3 or $5 a person extra, etc...

I dont have a problem with paying tips, i think i just have a problem thinking about it and calculating it and adding it all up.

Limo drivers are generally included in the price of the limo. So, if you want to give extra, I think less than $50, like $20.

Don't forget flower delivery person.

I know what you mean. But on the other hand, if they were already included, you wouldn't be able to withdraw them if their service disappointed you. We didn't end up tipping our limo drivers because they screwed up the pickup time and got lost (even though we gave them directions). So if that kind of thing happens the day of your wedding, you should definitely not tip them.

Agreed. It could be worse, though. Someone originally told me you have to tip 15-20% for EVERY vendor. We said there was no way we can afford that. Good thing to know it was totally wrong.
