Tipping or dinner

Me and my FI decided to tip our venders instead of dinner. i am paying already for their services do i have to tip them and feed them too. should i ask them what they want. We are also thinking about telling the venders that they can eat from the cocktail hour. Do you think they would understand.

I think you are to do both. You can tip them but if they are working more than 6 hours, even NYS law says a worker is supposed to get a lunch/dinner break. I have found if you keep the people in your life well fed and content they will go the extra mile for you.

When I can't get my students motivated for review I start throwing out candy for right answers

I think it's the norm to feed them as well, unfortunately. Luckily, our hall offered a discount rate for vendors' meals.

i didnt know providing dinner to the vendors was an option...

I used to work at a catering hall, and the vendors were ALWAYS fed!

I know it is a pain in the butt, but put your self in their shoes... if you were a wedding vendor, who was accustomed to being fed at weddings, then you get to a wedding and are told... sorry, we arent giving you the meal tonight... personally I would not be a happy camper and would not do as good as a job...

Actually, I asked all my vendors about this before booking them and I asked them if eating at the CH would be a problem. They all said no. But, I might change my mind about the photographer and videographer since they will be with me from 1pm to 1am.

My hall will give me a discount but i am saying that i am already paying alot for their service. Why should i give them a tip and food. I rather give them a great tip. I am offering them to eat at the CH.
