with 23 hours til my wedding, my mom and I are having a tipping debate...
Would you tip a MU artist who has her own business out of her house and travels to you for the day of wedding? If so how much. My mom says no because its her own business, but I feel we should tip bc she is travelling. TIA

See I tipped her at my trial as well, so do I tip her again on my wedding day too? I have her doing me and my BM's and my mom and my mom is telling everyoen not to tip her and I feel bad!!!

Re: Tipping Question-Make Up Artist
I didn't tip makeup artists at trials if they owned their own business, but I did tip on the day of, even though the travel expenses are included un the cost. I think I tipped $30 or $40 for all of us (there were 5 of us including me). Not a big tip bec she owns her own business, but I didn't want to not tip either...it just didn't feel right!
Just a thought...if you tipped at the trial she will probably think you will be tipping her on your day...!!

Re: Tipping Question-Make Up Artist
My mom and I had the same debate. I'm going to give her a small tip, not as much as I would do if she didn't own the business.

Re: Tipping Question-Make Up Artist
I would still tip, she's performing a service, owning the business or not. Years of disgruntled waitressing has taught me. The only time I did not tip was for a very expensive trial where it went directly to the artist, and she only worked on me for about an hour. I still would have tipped day of though.

Re: Tipping Question-Make Up Artist
I say yes to tipping her, I have absolutely no logical reason for this other than I think it would make me uncomfortable to not tip I get the fact that it's her own business and her travel time is built into the price, etc. I would just feel weird to not tip, lol

Re: Tipping Question-Make Up Artist
I tipped my make-up artist for the trial and she has her own business also. She traveled to my house and took her time. She did a great job and really worked with me to get the look I wanted.
