Re: Tipping...Help...
Well i know my RH requires us to tip the matradee (sp?) and captain in a combined tip (were give arpox $300 they told us average $2-$3 per person and then $50 for the bridal attendant) this is on top of the 18% gratuity we have paid in the contract. All our vendors again although charged a gratuity also state 'tips are appreciated' for our photographer we are giving him $125 which is for him and his assistant and the veidographer probably $80-100 (there going to be with us all day) The DJ will get $50 and the MC will get $50 and the for the limos we have two... a pick up drop off limo for the guys...so probably like $25 and then for our main limo driver $75. and then were going to tip the guy who brings us our flowers $10. I have driven my self crazy with what i should tip but these are the average prices i was given by a few people i know who were just married.

Yeah...I still dont know...
Our BM from WCC told us that all tips are included in the service charge except for the maitre'd and the bridal attendant. He said we should give 600-700 dollars to our maitre'd...but didnt say anything about Bridal attendant. This seems like a lot...what are you doing? I dont wanna be cheap and cheesy...but I dont wnat to be an idiot and throw out unnecessary money...I really need help. What is standard? Everything is so expensive to begin with and then you hear this...ahhhh. I feel like screaming...its so stressful.
The other vendors we are still not sure yet...hair and makeup??? florist??? band??? It never ends.
Thanks for allowing me to vent girls...please respond with feedback...

Re: Tipping...Help...
Along these lines, I am using a private photographer, he works for himself. I am paying him $5000, I don't think I would tip on top of that, would I?
He is bringing a second photographer, I guess I should plan on tipping him.

The bridal attendant is usually between $100-200 depending on service.... The banquet manager is not expected to be tipped unless he/she threw in tons of freebies/extras for you....then it's usually about $50 (they make a commission off of your wedding-at least this is what I was told by someone in the catering business). Makeup/hair- I am tipping between $25-50 each. They own their own business and you do not have to tip them at all if they own the business- it is usually the stylists that work for them that get tipped- but I feel funny not tipping so I know I will give them something!!!! I'm tipping the DJ, MC and photg and video each about $50 and the steel drum band members $20 each. HTH

$600-700 is ridiculous to tip your maitre'd. He probably told you that to look out for the maitre'd but last time i check when i signed the contract at WCC and they gave me the total they charged like $1000 in tax and $3000 which was tip. By including 3000 as tip in my total that means the tip is included, so why would you tip on top of a tip? I wouldnt. The only people i would think you would tip is the limo, hair, makeup, Florist, band, but you dont give with you dont have so dont stress yourself out.
