Tips when looking for a specific kind of band for the reception?
Hi all! The music/band I have in mind for the wedding is extremely specific which is making it more difficult to find options (or to even figure out if what I want exists!). Does anyone have any websites they recommend or tips/hints for searching for a specific type of wedding band?In case anyone can help me out directly, I'm hoping to have 20s/40s style music playing during the CH and beginning of reception, and then switch over to more dance music but less pop/top 40 and more upbeat jazz/swing and classic/current rock/dance.
Thanks in advance for my rather specific request!!! I'm going nuts trying to find someone I like.

We booked Code Blue with Skyline Orchestras. They can play an amazing array of music from all different decades. I know Skyline has a few different bands, so check them out.I'm pretty sure I heard the band leader/owner, Sean, say that his trumpet player wasn't able to make the 2nd showcase we were at because he was playing in another band that focused on big band music.
Definitely check out their live showcases. They have them several times a month.

Check out Bravura! They'll play anything you want and you can book a live band and a DJ through them. I cannot wait to have them at my wedding.

We booked Soul Revival and they play everything. We are doing the exact same theme for our cocktail hour, and they are providing a 5 Piece - Trumpet, Sax, Bass, Keyboard, and Drums, I think, lol. They are so easy to work with, and just sound awesome, we've seen them a few times at friends' and coworkers' weddings, and they have the dance floor packed every time. www.soulrevivalband.com

We didn't book through them but I spoke with Candace of Sam Hill bands. It's more of a matching service for bands depending on what you are looking for, what your budget is.Welcome New Vendors
