Tired
Ok , so i started my new job Monday and my hours are 9-6.. i have to get up around 6 630 and i dont get home till about 630-7.. and i am EXHAUSTED!!! i have been out of work for a while so im not sure if you all feel like this or if its just me getting used to it, however i cant seem to keep my eyes open after 930.. and it just feels like all i have at home is a good 3 hours a night,,, how do i get stuff done like that,.. and to top it off, i have to work this weekend...that stinks, but its a holiday driven company..they better not expect me to work christmas day, although that seems to be the buzz!!! NO WAY.. i am very italian and this is our favorite holiday, and i wont miss it.. i dont mind working until 6 on xmas eve but no way christmas day!!! sorry just venting

Re: Tired
I think its horrible for companies to expect people to work on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Those are big holidays. Stores and offices should be closed. Some places of course need to be open but there's no reason to shop for clothes that day.I work similar hours plus have a long commute. I hate it. I feel like I have no time for myself and I'm always tired too.

Re: Tired
Don't worry I'm right there with you!!! I've been at this job for over a year (930-530) and have pretty much the same schedule as you... wake up to get to train 1 1/2 earlier and then get home 1 1/2 later than I got out. It is definately frustrating. Don't worry you'll get used to it!
I also have the 3 hour at home time. It gets a little depressing every once in a while. Because it's like come home, eat and sleep. Then wake up and start all over again! Once the day light savings is changed again it's better because then we're not leaving work in the dark!!! That's the worst I think!!!
Keep your chin up! You are not alone!
PS - NO JOB SHOULD MAKE ANYONE WORK CHRISTMAS DAY!!!

Re: Tired
Yes, me too... I work 8-5, so I get up at 6:30 and get home at around 6. By 11pm I am exhausted, especially when there is so much to do, like now around the holidays!!!edited to add: gosh I hope they dont make you work on Christmas!!!!

Welcome to the world of the 9-5 job! I absolutely HATE it!!! Doesn't it just stink? Why cant we work 9-3? Then we'd have time to actually have a life...and dinner (and not at 8pm!!)

Re: Tired
I thought Christmas is a religious holiday. There are a lot of places open, not everyone celebrates Christmas... that's what stinks about it.
