to all the PJCC brides I took the tour yesterday

Well yesterday was the big tour. Not that happy with the place, neither were all the other brides and grooms to be. It is clean and new but not laidout right. The bathrooms are in the basement along with the bridalsuite. If you are getting married there like me the spot is down in a hole you can't even see the water, it should be up on there huge deck. It just small the whole place and that was the biggest complaint from everyone. I most likey would have thought twice before booking had I seen it first. But to late for me.......I think the problem is it's not Villas

PS don't get mad at me everyone, some people see things differently, some of you brides will love the place

Do you mean the place no longer has a view? It was sooo pretty before.

after all the remarks over the past few days i am super anxious to go there on sat. i'm actually getting married there too (the first one outside) so i'll let you know how it goes. my parents saw it and they did think it was a little tight but we do only have 140 people so maybe that will help.

out of curiousity- were you hoping that it was going to resemble villa? nothing agains villa but it is not our style and they were adamant that pjcc was not going to look like it. just wanted to get an idea of what you are looking for.

thanks for you candid review though. everyone has different tastes so no two people will generally like the same thing.

No I didn't think it was going to look like villas but I did think It was going to be I guess grander, larger , nicer then it use to be. The chairs the stupid chairs Awwwwww

I'm so sorry to hear this. I got married there last September and it was so wonderful! I wish they didn't change it! Our pictures came out great - especially the ones on the deck with the water and sailboats in the background.

OMG sigh of relief. I cancelled my contract b/c I just didn't feel right about not seeing the place and Villa people not knowing the answers to my questions.

These comments are making me VERY nervous!! Bridal suite downstairs???? (I saw pictures ofthe chairs, I didn't love them either....) This was the one thing I didn't think I had to worry about? What was the main room like?

I do appreciate your honest review...

Ok....definitely getting nervous now. Anyone have pics yet? Can someone please elaborate on the chairs a little.

the chairs are your typical wedding chair, I think they look like the ones at Villas but not sure, only they are ivory (I only saw them in a photo) I wouldn't get worried. I know I chose the place for the food, the view, the beautiful area, the fact that it would be new and no one would have been there and because it had sort of a quaint charm about it, and I knew they were striving to maintain that. I will go see for myself...

Ok, so now I'm freaking out a little bit too. Granted, we were going a lot on faith, but we're going to have about 175 people, sounds like we may be smushed in there. And the stupid chairs! No one seems to like them. Can we get chair covers? I think they always look nice anyway....

I am REALLY looking forward to seeing it. I think the Knock-out view will be great, though. And, hopefully, we will all enjoy the day b/c of great people, great food, and the fact we just got married!!!

That being said, keep the details coming

i talked to my mom again last night (she went on tues) and she reassured me again how much i was going to absolutely love it! sure she told me i probably won't like the chairs, but to be honest i think the only place we looked at where i did like the chairs was east wind. the reception room does hold 250 and she thought that would be tight so i'm sure 150-175 will be perfect.

i have seen the place numerous times before i booked so i essentially knew the layout.

since i'm a little pressed for time, i inquired about chair covers and they are astronomically priced!! i can't last minute find another $750 for chair covers. besides i think fh would flip. ($750 is a lot for chair covers!!!)

i gues i'm just trying to cheer myself up

i don't have time to stress about another thing

ok ladies....I am getting married there on Jun 12th. I was there on May 1st..the first day it opened for a communion. You ladies have nothing to worry about. Anyone who has seen it so far has to realize that it was just completed in less then a week ago. They will still be putting touches to the place. The main ball room is abslutly beautiful and the cocktail room is gorgeous too. It surrounds the main room. The bridal suite is on the lower level....but it is SO pretty and spacious inside. I have 12 girls and 12 guys in my bridal party, and everyone will be able to fit in there. You can still see the view from the main room and the deck outside. My ONLY objection was that the ceremony area is too small. I do have 200 guests coming and myself, my fiance and my family all agree that no more than 60 to 75 people are going to be able to fit in that area. I asked ' the wedding planners' at Lombardi's and they did tell me that they messed up and didn't realize that it was so small. Maybe they are planning on fixing it...but honestly, as a soon to be bride...i can't stress about the little things. I can't wait for the wedding...just praying that it doesn't rain!!!

Thanks Meshelle and MattituckPrincess. I appreciate your posts. I'm sure it is going to be a beautiful spot and can't wait to hear all about your wonderful 'big days' (which I'm so jealous are actually in the very near future!!! Very exciting!!)
