I don't appreciate you calling met fans fools. There is no need to insult people...It's low class and I'm sure that any yankee fan with class would agree that that was uncalled for. I didn't call any yankee fans fools but it looks like you are a yankee fan with no class. I know yankee fans that are a lot nicer than you are.

I can't root for the Yankees because all the yankee fans at my job always give me grief about my team and I am so sick and tired. Every game they win they rub in my face but yet nobody in the office mentioned that they lost last night.

Oh my goodness .. please do not lump ALL YANKEE fans into one big category. I know plenty of Mets fans who've gone out of their way to stop at my desk and insult ME when they have won and the Yanks have lost .. its the nature of any rivalry. I certainly could NEVER root for the Mets, but I certainly do not 'hate' Mets fans (I'm marrying one!)

And believe me most of us Yankee fans certainly don't spend all of our free time finding ways to insult Mets fans .. generally , its all in good fun and cause for a good debate.. I'm sorry your co-workers give you grief, but that's the way it is with NY Fans in general!

And I think EVERYONE remains 'quiet' when their team is losing, be it Mets OR Yankee fans ...

and the only thing i have against 'bandwagon' fans, is that they become all smug that their team is winning, and insult the losing teams. Sure, its easy to root for the winning team... but don't put down the loyal fans that stand by their losing teams!!

I agree .. I hate the bandwagon fans who hardly know what the heck they're talking about in the 1st place. Personally I'd much rather see a 1/2 full Yankee stadium filled with LOYAL fans than a sold-out stadium filled with bandwagoners... it bugs me when I'm sitting next to people who don't have a clue about the game (but that's just me .. I'm a little baseball obsessive in the 1st place)

I 100% respect ANY LOYAL fan of ANY TEAM .. esp Mets fans, you've earned my respect for being able to stick by that team! LOL (J/K)

Hey, I'm sorry that you work with a bunch of jerks. What is it with your office? Everyone there who I have any thing in common with is apparently a JERK! (RE: the other post from the other day where the Jewish girl made some very ignorant comments)

But what I'm saying is that people stereotype all Yankee Fans as Met Haters and that pisses me off. I ROOT FOR THE METS (so long as they're not playing my team)! I Have ALWAYS ROOTED for the Mets in those situations. And it pisses me off when people treat me like I'm the problem, simply because I root for the Yanks.

I have been a Yankee fan for a long time - granted I am not the biggest out there but I liked them since the 70s when I started collecting baseball cards as a kid. Anyway, the history of the Yanks is so much cooler than the Mets as are the COLORS!

I would totally wear a pinstripe jersey or blue and white over BLUE & ORANGE any DAY!

I've been a Yankee fan since I was born. My cousin played for them, and was their Captain until he died in a plane crash. I will be a Yankee fan until the day I die. Then I will have the best view of all watching them from heaven.

some Yankee fans are GREAt fans.. they love their guys, they know their Yankee history and that's cool... God Bless em all.

some Met fans I know are AWFUL fans.. always complaining and never trying to look for the positives.. they whine and complain. They want quick-fix solutions instead of building a good team.

It's all in good fun. My Yankee friends make fun of me.. I do the same thing to them.. no one gets angry.

Keep everything cool .. and keep it friendly.

If I start hearing drama about this, I won't post anymore.. let's just have fun and LAUGH!

I was playing a practical joke on some of you before.. there was a letter written by a 'friend' of mine named 'Dude.'.. I tried to write it so that nobody would believe it.. and that everyone would get a laugh out if it.

I know.. to create a drama out of THIS.. would be the most silliest thing on earth.

We're adults.. we can poke fun at each other's team. Nothin's personal. It's all fun!

And for bedda who said I had no class, and for anyone who may agree with this - let me set the record straight.

First of all, I'm a Met fan -- I wasn't bashing them --I was bashing the Yanks and I was responding to another comment.

New York sports wouldn't be half as fun if we didn;t have Met-Yankee banter. It's what makes the game worth wathcing. It's like the Ranger fans who love to yell Potvin sucks and it's like the Islander fans who lused to like to yell 1940 -- no one (at least for the most part) means anything by it.

Like OctGroom says, there are really good fans and really bad ones. For example, if I was watching the Yanks play the Mets at Shea and I saw a person wearing a Jeter jersey, I wouldn't harass, but some Met fans would and do. That's wrong

So, anything I say is in good fun. It's true I'm not a big fan of Steinbrenner's and the 'buy' attitude he has. It's true that the Mets have a huge payroll and not alot to show for it because of poor management. But, I will never attack someone's right to root for who they want. i get mad when people jump on the bandwagon but I guess in a few years when the Mets are back on top, I'll have to deal with that as well.
