To all those who participated in the gay marriage thread

I will always stand up to rasism, sexism, and people who unfairly target groups of individuals. Let us NOT forget that there were many people in Natzi Germany that didn't stand up for others and just said that they were respecting how others felt. I, for one, am NOT that type of person. If you don't like the name, then consider learning more about a subject before you make narrow-minded comments.
Editted to be upfront and say that my sister is gay and deserves the SAME treatement that ALL other people in the US get.

It was just an opinion, noone said that it was right or wrong, just stating how they feel.
'Bigot' is a very stong word for you to use against someone you dont even know. For the record me and Don have alot of gay friends.

I know the word is strong and I use it when I see a class of people discriminated against. That is what a bigot is...someone who discriminates against a group of people based on race, gender, religion or other reasons.

Michele, you are so immature that we needed a thread to specifically call you names because you name called. It is not okay to generally throw the word 'bigot' around. It is okay to call someone immature. You have been around here a long time so you should know that. Bad Michele

I agree in Cindy's first post (not the one right above mine)
Putting up a thread to specifically address the person that ruined that discussion is only giving that person more attention. I know you were upset with her remarks, Kelly, and I am not saying you shouldn't be because I felt the same way you did, be but sometimes, igoring the people that are closed-minded is the better way to go.

number 1 i didn't start it -- number 2, i don't love being in trouble, but when someone calls me a bigot, i respond

But what I DO find mindly suspicious is how people come 'from elsewhere' just to start with people. You don't hear from people in weeks- but then they show up to call people bigots?

If you really wanted to be a part of this community you wouldn't only show up when you wanted to throw around names and insults.

If that is what goes on 'elsewhere' I'm glad I'm here.
