To Garter or Not to Garter??

So how many of you girls are doing the garter toss? I'm soooooo torn.

Half of me is kind of embarrassed to do this in front of both of our fams, but then at the same time I found this adorable Yankees garter set (pic in my wedding ideas album), and it would be so hilarious to wear it because I'm a HUGE Yankees fan, and FH is from Maryland and HATES the Yankees, so when he finds the garter he will likely launch it across the room Plus I kind of like being traditional.

Are you girls going to do the garter toss?

wearing one, but not tossing it. the whole thing where one random single guy gets to grope the inner thigh of one random single girl seems like a really uncomfortable imposition on guests. JMO

NAH NOT DOING IT! Im also not doing the BOK toss. Im having them dance to see who is married the longest & they will receive my BOK.

We're not doing the garter toss because we both think FH grabbing up my dress to music in front of people (like my Grandparents is a little crude). Plus there won't be many single people at the wedding, and the ones who will be there won't be into the garter/Bo-K toss.

I'm torn as well, although my mom bought me a garter lol. There aren't going to be a lot of single people HMMM... something to think about

we did the garter removal, and i surprised DH with 4 different garters (pics in my review)

since most of our friends are married ...

instead of doing the toss, we did an anniversary elimination dance, where the couple married the longest got the throw away bo-k. we didn't give away any of the garters 'cause the couple that won was my grandparents. grandpa doesn't need my garter

This is exactly what we are doing. Depending on who the longest married couple is I will decide if they get the garter. Def giving them the bo-k though.

We're not doing it. We were undecided for a while, but finally decided against it. We were at a wedding a few weeks ago and when they did the bo-k toss and the garter toss it took begging and pleading for people to come to the dance floor to take part it in. It was kind of embarrassing for them and I don't want to go through that, or 'make' our guests take part. We'll probably do the anniversary dance as well.

Haha. My FH is from Maryland too, but is the biggest Yankee fan there is (next to our priest, actually!). I am wearing a Yankee garter or panties (or both) for him, but I am NOT doing the toss because we both aren't crazy about it and there are really like NO single people coming to our wedding (maybe 2 girls and 2 guys!)

i'm not going to do it. or the bok toss. most of our friends are engaged or married so there's only a few people that are single.

I am doing the garter toss, but I am not making whoever catches the bok have the garter put on her. I think that can be embarrasing, especially when they don't know each other. JMO

My RH has a balcony, so I will toss my bok from there, and have FH take off my garter up there, since I really don't want him digging up my dress with everyone watching lol...I'm shy . Then he can toss it. I'm a Mets fan, but I am going to be wearing a Yankess garter for FH..I'm getting one to toss, and one for him for later.

I don't think I am going to - I think there are going to be like 2 single girls at the wedding!!! So it's pointless...right?

BUT I am definitely wearing one...I found a cute fire fighter one that I want! (FH is FDNY)
