Haha the first thing I thought too was 'you must be italian!' lol... sad isn't it?

I had/have a similar situation going on in my own family where my dad hasn't spoken to his brother for years after my grandfather passed away. To be honest, I think you should do what your father wants too! Afterall it's his brother... and this may be the perfect chance for them to come around to speaking terms again. I didn't think I was going to invite my evil uncle either or cruella deville (his wife)... my uncle is the most pig-headed human being of them all!!! but he actually apologized (!!!) to my dad (if you knew my uncle you'd know how shocking and how hard that must've been for him to admit he was wrong!) after all these years and he realized that with my wedding coming up it is the perfect chance to bury the hatchet... He lives out of town and he's even coming up for my e-party! (which we didn't even invite him to - he just invited himself)... who would've forseen that!!!... It'll be the first time they see each other in years!.....

Life's too short! In the end, your uncle will always be your father's brother - no matter how pig-headed he is! This might be a great way for you to reunite them if you want!

On the other hand, he might decline anyway and you'll have nothing to worry about.

First I would talk that over with your father... see what he says.
Second I would want to invite him- if anything it would probably help what happened in the past while avoiding anymore family drama.

I am half italian...lol
but its the other half (Dominican) family who is acting this way. (but i know what you mean).

I think i'll send him an invite., but honestly I really hope he says no.

Def talk to your dad first. Then take it from there. I hope it all works out for you!

I know that you're hoping that he says no but you know what.. if he says yes it should help things mend a bit...
Also if he does show- he wouldn't dare cause any drama on your day!
