So my office is starting a 12 week WW at work program on April 1st...I dont know if I should join or not...The cost is $144 for the 12 weeks...
Is it worth it? Any opinions?

Re: To join WW or not to join WW
IMO it is definitely worth it...that is the same price as if you went to 12 weeks worth of meetings and honestly I am a true believer in the power of WW...if you commit yourself to it there is no way you WONT lose weight!

Re: To join WW or not to join WW
If you feel you have a few pounds to shed, DO IT!
I cannot express enough how much of a difference WW has made in my life. And it can't get any more convenient than doing an At Work meeting. The leader comes to you, and does a quick half hour meeting.
I lead an At Work meeting at a salon on Tuesday nights, and the group has such a good time together. It also helps doing the At Work b/c you're all in it together.
ETA: if you check out the WW motivation/support thread, you can see my before and after pics

WW works with any lifestyle. You don't HAVE to eat anything in particular, and you don't HAVE to avoid anything in particular. It's what you love to eat.
If you choose to do it, ask for the special sheet for vegetarians.

It works. My mom lost 40 lbs in 4 months for my sister's wedding. And my sister lost 15 lbs easily doing weight watchers.
I started again on Tuesday...and hope to lose 30 lbs by July!

If you feel you need to make a lifestyle change, DO IT!! It is so worth it. I did it on my own, without meetings and lost 10 lbs over 3 months. I didn't have a support network tho. If I did, I believe I would have lost more weight. My friend did it over 9 months and lost 80lbs. She did it gradually and she looks fantastic. Its a lifestyle adjustment tho. Anyone could do it, but it is much better with help. WW is great and their online tools -just awesome.

That's funny, I just joined again on Tues also and have around the same goal for now! Hopefully we'll get there!

I totally want to join, but then I'll have to quit smoking and drinking, right? Haha, its really not funny and I should get into shape. I think I'll give it a go this summer.

Although I'd recommend to cut back on smoking and drinking (for health reasons of course), you don't HAVE to quit anything!

Re: To join WW or not to join WW
the thing is that ww is slower weight loss than other diets i have been on....but it totally seems like something i could maintain long-term bc its about making healthier choices.
i did nutrisystem last summer and lost 17 lbs in 2 mths without even working out...bc the calories are raelly restricted...but when i stopped it i started gaining the weight back slowly
i would def consider doing ww!!

i agree you don't have to quit either...but maybe with the drinking just cut back...i had started dieting and would do good with food but then was drinking like a fish during the weekends so i wasnt losing a thing...now that i have cut back a lot on the alcohol (not saying i am not drinking at all )...i am starting to see some weight come off..

Here's the thing about it being 'so slow.':
Healthy weight loss is supposed to be slow and gradual. Also, the longer you take to lose it, the longer it takes to put back on (if at all).
Finally, none of us put this weight on overnight (even though it may feel like it).....it's not going to come off overnight.

i agree...its tempting to do a diet that is a quick fix but i want to change my eating habits so i can maintain my weight once i get down to my goal
