not for christmas...but one easter i got a box. it was a pretty box...but when i opened it, nothing was in it.

Someone once realized that they had not gotten me a gift and they went into a closet and got a bottle of perfume for me.
It's a nice one, yes. But people who know me (and this person does) know that I am not a big perfume person.
I've tried to exchange it at different stores but no one will take it. It's some Calvin Klein one. It's probably a size that was given in one of those gift-with-purchase kinda deals so no place will take it.

Honestly, I think the worse was when an ex gave me a gift card to the mall for $100. #1. Total Regift. #2. Completely insensative considering I spent time shopping for him and he didn't do the same for me. #3. If it wasn't a regift, than his mother got it for him to give to me...
Hence the reason why i broke up with him... 4 months later I met FH.
Now I get insanely thoughtful gifts. Every gift FH ever gave me was very thoughtful.

there was just so many! My mom has a habit of buying things when they are on sale whether or not it fits. She also knows that i am allergic to most perfumes and every year she gives me the fake perfumes from the .99 store. I dont want to sound like a biatch but i can never use or wear anything she gives me.
The funniest was not for me but for my brother. About 15 years ago she gave him a purse!!!! She said she thought it was a fanny pack! Even if it was a fanny pack my brother who was about 25 at the time would never wear one.

Nowhere near as hysterical . . . When I was 15 I waitressed at a small seafood restaurant and my female boss bought me 4 pairs of 'pull-up to your armpits' granny-panties. They were also 5 sizes too large for me.

OHHHH I have another one.
An ex once gave me a bunch of clothes that were SO not me.
He said that he pictured himself dating someone that dressed in those clothes.
OMFG. I returned them all, except for one piece that I used to clean the toilet with.

I think it was our 3 year anni, FH took a vacation to Maryland. I thought because of the trip, we weren't exchanging gifts, but he bought me something - a book called 'The Alphabet of Manliness'. I sh*t you not... do I look like a man?! I tried to act all nonchalant about it and not make a big deal, but in the end he got mad at me because I didn't get him anything!!! Then he didn't talk to me the whole drive home. Thankfully, the next day he realized what an awful gift it was and returned it.

The worst gift was a book that I had gotten from an ex on our 1st x-mas together. Now, don’t get me wrong-it was an Anne Rice book and I love reading, but…I had gone with the bafoon to buy it for himself a month earlier. I’m thinking he finished it and decided it would be a GREAT gift for me…

for my e-party i got a neon green basket filled with post-it notes, 2 magnetic chip clips, monkey drink stirrers that were all broken, 2 beer cozies, and 2 light up flower leis you had to put together. oh and that plastic sh*t that you blow bubbles with that we had as kids.

sounds like they knew you pretty well.... beer cozies since yoru an alc, things you have to assemble because you like to DIY, and who doesnt love monkeys?

I have 2. fmil gave me all avon stuff (i know its stuff shes gotten for free bc she sold it-and i found boxes of it in her basement) and a tommy girl tshirt come on when was tommy girl out?
and second was a salt and pepper shaker for our e party. that was from 2 people. shaped as ugly fish. we are no longer friends.
