Re: to liven up the boards
When I was 8 my grandfather bought me a fake plastic play watch - the hands were in a fixed position & it couldn't even tell time & I already had a digital watch; it was ridicoulous - i think he thought i was 5 yrs old or something.

My ex boyfriend gave me an I love you necklace, I was so happy until I found out that I was the second girl to have that necklace. One of my sisters friends saw me wearing the necklace and told me that he had orginally had given it to his previous gf and she gave it back to him when they broke up.

Re: to liven up the boards
The worst gift I ever got was when I was little and we were visiting all the relatives houses on Christmas night like usual, my Aunt forgot to get me a gift and she just gave me a bag of m&m's. Broke my heart than, but would do anything for that bag right now.

Re: to liven up the boards
my great aunt who passed away a few years ago would give my sister paper and pens as gifts when we would visit in FL
but the best had to be my aunt when I was like 11 giving me slipper socks really and I think my mom got my cousins something awesome like a gift card

Re: to liven up the boards
I have one aunt who is a little eccentric when it comes to gift giving....
When my brother was 13, she gave him a purple 'My Secret Diary' complete with lock and key! C'mon, what 13 year old boy DOESN'T want that? He was so upset...
Then...when I graduated from college, she told my mom she was getting me purple luggage. My mom said that since I was coming home, luggage wouldn't be that practical. So, my aunt came to my graduation party and the conversation went as follows:
Aunt- 'I originally got you purple luggage, but your mom said you wouldn't really want it. But it was a really nice set, so I kept it for myself.' Me- 'Yeah, purple luggage wouldn't be the most practical gift right now since I'm coming home and not going anywhere.' Aunt- 'That's why I kept the purple luggage I bought you for myself and instead, got you this!'
So I opened up my gift...and it was purple luggage.... I was dying...she bought me purple luggage, kept it for herself when my mom told her I wouldn't like it and then instead bought me purple luggage!!!!!!!!!
This is my same aunt who lost an ice cream cake at her son's birthday, but it's ok...she had a spare in case that happened.......

OMG, these are freaking hysterical. I just checked my bb before going to sleep and have read these out loud for the past 20 min to FH. We have been dying of laughter here. The picture of the cousin takes the cake.
