to my other 'big' brides

this is sort of a strange question...

so yesterday i went for my first fitting..it was fine..dress fit great

now im not one to really obsess about my weight..im never going to be a size 2.and thats ok..but for somereason i could not help but notice that i was not super skinny yesterday

so here is where it gets strange..i m not worried bout what fh thinks,i now he loves me for me

its other people...for some reason i could not help but think what other people would think of how i looked..like they couldnt bliee i didnt lose 25 lbs for my wedding

i know i sound nuts,but does anyone think this too?

Gina you are going to look so gorgeous on your wedding day and it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks!!
I sometimes freak out about it too, I wish I had the will power to loose weight before the wedding, but I am what I am I guess.

I'm thinking the same about myself also i feel like i'm going to look humongous next to FH in pictures. I've been trying to lose weight but instead have gained so i dont know what else to do but to keep exercising lol.

second.. noone is going to think 'omg she didnt lose 25 pounds' they are going to think how amazing you look in dress, how happy you are, what a great couple you guys make, how awesome your hair and makeup is etc...

Just like FH loves you for you.. so does your family and friends.. and your LIW ladies too I may add.

ITA Completely! And you know what? If someone has the nerve to say or even think that, they probably have a lot of issues about their own body and can't help but scrutinize everyone else. I was looking at your pictures and I agree, you're going to look beautiful on your wedding day.

ITA!! Gina...I feel the same way too but then I have to remind myself that it really doesn't matter what others think because the only thing that matters is you and FH and he loves you for you and not how you look!

What makes me *angry* is that the media and stick thin anorexic Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and 'Young Hollywood' TELL us what is beautiful!!!

Im sorry you even have to think something like this.

The media *****. An AVERAGE woman in this country is a size12 and the media makes it out that if you are not a waife you are not beautiful.

Poo on them!

Your going to look amazing and beautiful. You will FEEL beautiful. You will be in a room with people who love and adore you. But the fact is it makes NO DIFFERENCE!!!!

Gina, you're beautiful and don't ever feel that you're not! In fact, I envy your figure, I would love to be curvy. No one is going to think that of you, all they'll be thinking of is how beautiful and happy you look.

the thought has crossed my mind about not looking super tiny in my dress too & it doesn't help that my BM's range from a size 2 to 14 but you said it yourself, your FH loves you for you & it shouldn't be any other way....to hell with anyone that would think otherwise

OMG seriously you will look amazing and I don't think most people think that at all! I have been heavier in my life and lighter and I know that when I do lose weight I tend to gain it back and thought if I really lost weight for my wedding then everyone would just be like 'Hey how come you looked so good in your wedding pics and then went right back to normal?'

AND everyone will be sooo happy for you that day that they will just be thinking and brides ALWAYS ALWAYS look hot bc you are happy, all made up, in a SICK dress and GLOWING!!!!

and there will prob be one person who thinks that but I think that those thoughts come from THEM worrying about their own weight . you know. . and has to do with their issues not yours!

I felt the same exact way and I basically stopped eating right before the wedding. I lost so much that my dress didnt fit me properly, so please do not do that! Oh yea and i gained it right back on the HM.

I had a gym buddy who would say to me 'arent you worried about not loosing the weight before the wedding' or 'since your weddng is a month away, you are going to go to the gym like 2 times a day right?' I dont go with that person anymore

Didnt really help since I already and screwed up with my body image!

I totally felt like this too!!!! Even the night before the wedding, I was feeling like 'wow, I wish I didn't have all this extra weight on me... people are going to think I'm nuts, being a 'fat' bride...' but when I look at our pictures, I see the look in DH's eyes and I'm glad I didn't make myself miserable trying to lose more. He really truly loves me, and that's what matters. Not one person asked me why I didn't diet more. Not one person asked me why my arms were so flabby or how dare I go with a strapless dress.

Some pictures are not that flattering, but who cares -- there are hundreds that are lovely! The best ones are the ones with DH's hands on my waist, my smallest part of my body. Also, keeping my veil on helped to disguise some of the arm fat.

You will look gorgeous, and no one will think anything about your weight on your wedding day -- NOT EVEN YOU!!! EAT UP CHICA!

I agree with you ladies 100%, you are going to look amazing no matter what size. Who cares what your wedding dress size is or losing the weight. I rather people recognize me and not say oh she lost weight just for the wedding. If I can loose the weight by the next fitting then great if not oh well. I have always been a size 14-12 since I was 14 and that is me!

My dress fitting went so perfect that I dont have to pay for alterations which made me so happy bc they were supposed to be $600, so I am glad I didnt loose or gain weight bc the next day I found out FH got laid off which ***** but also is a blessing bc he hated his job and now I dont have to shell out an extra $600 on my dress

I had similar moments because despite how hard I tried to lose weight all Spring/Summer all I could think about was that people would notice I gained 25 lbs. Finally I caved and found out I was insulin resistant and needed a drug to help and although I've lost 10 lbs of it, I know I will not look as small as I always envisioned myself looking.

However, when I look at 'big brides' as you put it, I don't start thinking 'oh she's big', I still find them to be so stunning in their gowns! On your wedding day you just glow!

Now on to you missy...you are beautiful and sexy and your FH LOVES you and thinks that and if he had a doubt about your looks, he wouldn't be taking the plunge. I think you are going to look so amazing on your wedding day!

However, if you want to lose 25 lbs, maybe it's a little late but maybe you'll lose 10 or 15 and feel really great about yourself so if you want to try, do it! It isn't too late!
