To shuttle the drunks or not to shuttle?`

To shuttle the drunks or not to shuttle?`

So far, I have only received outrageous quotes. I am paying for an open bar so why not let everyone enjoy themselves?
THere is not shame in my game. I resirted to calling a school bus company and was shocked to hear their high quote!
Anyone out there whom has found a great deal?

does your hotel offer a shuttle?

Ours did and it was free with a certain number of rooms (10 I think). Everyone loved it.

One the last trip, they shoved my brother in the trunk. We were rolling

I don't know if its good or not but we were quoted $700 for the shuttle to pick the hotel guests up and bring them to the hall, and then from the hall bring them back to the hotel. This was the lowest quote we got, so we went with it

We only have a couple who are staying in the hotel (6 of them) so we are just going to pay a cab-it shouldn't be too much. I wish we could provide them with something nicer but it's just not in our budget.

That is why we are doing it all in the same place , wedding , reception and hotel

I haven't blocked rooms yet. That was my last post question:) So far, the hotels that I have spoken with only offer the 9- 14 passenger van. Even if they do multiple trips, I do not think that it would accommodate all of my guests. I wish it would. Look at the money I would be saving!

$700 is lower than I have been quoted. Which company is that?

Royalty limos was 175 and there is another company in Ronkonkoma. I am drawing a blank now on that companies name. Shop around.

This is hysterical...although it has crossed my mind, I quickly remembered all the other weddings I've been to. There was never a shuttle and nobody cared how you got home. Unless you have the extra funds for the shuttle, I would just voice my concern with people who are drinking and ask them to carpool with others. Thats what I am doing. Since my family is Polish and there'll be ton of liquor at my wedding, I want to make sure people get home safe. Others, for example my bridal party, are crashing at a hotel with us (of course separate rooms)...

By the way, from my research, an average 60 person bus will run you around $900-$1000.

I shuttled my drunks to and from the hotel. It was well worth the expense to make sure all was safe and sound.

Our hotel van did one run before and after, but I then hired another van to do multiple trips (3 before the wedding and 4 after). I'm trying to find the name for you now.

My thoughts exactly!!! It would be a nice gesture, but it's not in my budget and nobody's ever done that for me!

we would have loved to do it for our guests, but the expense wasn't in our budget!

I found a school bus company for $65/hour and it is an air conditioned school bus. FM me for details. There is a minimum of 5 hours, but still...that is a good deal! ...IF you don't mind the thought of a big ol' school bus
