To the TTc's

Is anyone feeling that they had enough and want to give up? Sometime I feel like I am at the end of my rope and don't want to try anymore

Michelle please dont' give up. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be. Maybe you need a few months off just to re-boot so to speak?

I am so sorry you feel this way. I think a lot of women on this board can share your sentiment and I am sure will be donating lots of support on this post....

Re: To the TTc's

I haven't been trying that long (since November). I have not gotten to the point that I feel like I want to give up. I have a girl in my office and she was trying for 1 year and finally she got pregnant. I am sure if I have to try that long I will feel like giving up too.

Don't give up!!

Michelle, I can only imagine how you feel, I have not been trying seriously and I guess just seeing others around me just having sex and getting pregnant it makes you wonder why that does not work for you. To think that I might have to do a series of test and time sex gets me to want to throw up my hands and say hey if its meant to be it would just happen. I guess sometimes I don't even want to seriously try b/c I am afraid of the disappointment that I might get month after month. So I guess if I don't go there and I don't expect anything, I will not be disappointed.

Don't give up sweetie, I know it cannot possible be easy on the spirit. Take care and know that you are always in my thoughts and my prayers

Re: To the TTc's

Michelle, I am right there with you. After two long years of TTC I sometimes wonder if it will ever happen. I wonder if G-d could be so cruel as not to fufill my dream of having my own child, something I've wanted as long as I can remember. I wonder if its all a lost cause, if all this poking, prodding, emotional turmoil, and thousands and thousands of dollars is all for nothing.

But then I think how badly I want to have a child that is mine and Scott's own flesh and blood, and I know I can't give up yet. I look into my husbands eyes and see the wonderful man he is, and know what a great dad he would be. Even after all the disappointments, my first thought is always, ok, how soon can we start the next cycle.

Yes, I'm still sad. I still cry. As silly as it sounds I consider myself to be in mourning for our little embryos that didn't make it. And you know what? It's ok. It's normal. And, I still have hope. And as long as I have hope, I can't stop trying.

Lisa what an emotionally honest and inspirational post. I wish all of you all the dust in the universe.

I don't know what you are going through first hand but your posts give me insight into how frustrating it must be. I don't even know what to say because nothing seems to express how much I feel for you or seems like enough supposrt. Lisa, your post is making me cry, I wish and pray for both of you (and all TTC'ers) to be so blessed with a child. Your strength is remarkable, it really is. It can imagine how you can feel like giving up Michelle. Please know that we all love and support you here.

Re: To the TTc's

I have to say I know what you are feeling--- They day before Christmas Eve when I just knew I was going to get AF I lost it-- BIG TIME--and I finally told DH I had had enough--

I never understood when I would read women say that--but I then knew what they were feeling-- I couldnt go thru another month of waiting and wondering and imaging symptoms that werent there---

well I have to say --and I never would admit this but giving up is what worked for us-- Now mind you I didnt think I was that stressed over TTC--although we had been trying for over a year --I had started testing with an RE-- so I guess I was---

well we finally shared the news that we were TTC with family on New Years Eve and Day--because the stress was too much of a burden for both of us to handle---

and wouldn't you know I got pregnant that next month--- I have no idea if it is related--my Mom will say it was the prayers and support that we received--ok I have faith but come on---- really now---

I felt like I was for months and months on end-- and it wasnt until I was able to let go that it worked for us--- now i know that isnt the case for everyone and I offer my support to anyone that wants it because I know there were many ladies of LIW who helped me during the TTC time--

My thoughts are with those trying
and of course some dust

Re: To the TTc's

Oh Michelle!

I am on vacation down in Florida this week and yesterday AF arrived again and I was crying and feeling the same way -- that I'm ready to give up.

I don't want to give up on the dream and the yearning to have a biological child but it's breaking me down so much. Sometimes I don't even feel like the same person.

I'm hoping the RE will agree to see me again instead of just putting me on more drugs so we can see what's going on.

I'm frustrated, heart-broken, and my spirits are down. I didn't even get excited or have positive feelings this month -- I just knew AF would arrive again.

I just want to get out of this funk and feel like there's hope.

I'm here for you! I'm wishing us hope, and the strength to carry on.

Much love and good thoughts,
Stef

Not TTC, but wanted to offer hugs, much love and support to all those of you who are. You are all in my thoughts and I truly hope that each of you is able to realize your heart's desire.

Just remember it is easier to give up in the face of adversity than it is to move on. But your ultimate reward will be worth all the work, pain and perseverence.

Baby dust to you all!!!!*****~~~~*****

Michelle...I know how you feel. Hubby and I have tried everything to timing, and get so dissappointed when AF comes, that I say what is wrong with me
Im at the point where we still are trying, but not calculating when I ovulate. We are just going about our own business in our own way, and will see what happens.

Stef, I say the same thing. I don't feel like the same person anymore. It seems like everything revolves around TTC, what I can eat, drink, planning vacations, my work schedule, sex (can't do it for weeks at a time during a cycle), etc. Everything is so planned. Nothing is spontaneous anymore. It's all so complicated now.

INSIST on seeing your RE and going over everything.

Michelle,
You KNOW how I feel about this! I have not been trying as long as you or some others, but I am trying for 10 months & I too, am totally frustrated, and what gets me is those who I know who aren't 'seriously' trying, or not trying at all, have NO clue what I feel month after month when AF comes, thats why I am greatful this board exists and those who are my TTC buddies who don't even post they are trying, and those who do post, give me so much support.

My friends also, know not to tell me anymore, 'relax it will happen' and 'try not to stress', they know I don't want to hear that, so they don't even say it anymore. (TTC know how those words are to hear )

Re: To the TTc's

I just want to say that 2 of my closest friends adopted a girl from child and since the moment they picked her up in their arms she has been their child. In fact, we picked them up at the airport and I saw both of them in her eyes immediately. She was holding onto her mother and hasn't let go since. She is just as much a part of them as Molly is a part of Scott and I.

Each couple needs to decide how much time and/or financial means and emotions they can deal with while TTC. I can only imagine that your heart breaks every single month I am not in that position but I doubt words really help.
Maybe taking a break for a few months is helpful. That way you aren't on pills/shots ups and downs. Just being a 'regular' couple might help for a bit. I have heard from friends that it does help to give you some hope again.
I hope that your doctor(s) can help figure out what they need to do in order for you to have a healthy pregnancy.

I wish!! I would love to be 'normal' again. Unfortunately for me this is not an option. I am 36 years old and for some unknown reason I seem to have poor egg quality. It gets worse as you get older. Time is a very important factor for me...

Geez, I'm really having a pity party today!

Re: To the TTc's

Some of you may know that I am pregnant and succeeded on our first 'try' so to speak. Although I haven't experienced what you are going through, I can imagine how painful it is.

My mom's friend dropped off a prayer card with a medalion and a little note for me yesterday, and it was about a Saint Gerard, who watches over pregnancy, etc. It was a very sweet gesture and I thought it may help some of you too. I decided to look up online Saint Gerard, and found this prayer. I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries in regards to religion or anything, but I thought some of you may appreciate this.

A Prayer to St. Gerard for Motherhood

O glorious Saint Gerard, powerful intercessor before God, and wonder worker of our day, I call upon you and seek your help. You who always fulfilled God's will on earth, help me to do God's holy will. Intercede with the Giver of life, from whom all parenthood proceeds, that I may conceive and raise children who will please God in this life, and be heirs to the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

Baby dust to all of you.
