To the TTc's

Original post by MichelleW

Is anyone feeling that they had enough and want to give up? Sometime I feel like I am at the end of my rope and don't want to try anymore

Some of you may know that I am pregnant and succeeded on our first 'try' so to speak. Although I haven't experienced what you are going through, I can imagine how painful it is.

My mom's friend dropped off a prayer card with a medalion and a little note for me yesterday, and it was about a Saint Gerard, who watches over pregnancy, etc. It was a very sweet gesture and I thought it may help some of you too. I decided to look up online Saint Gerard, and found this prayer. I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries in regards to religion or anything, but I thought some of you may appreciate this.

A Prayer to St. Gerard for Motherhood

O glorious Saint Gerard, powerful intercessor before God, and wonder worker of our day, I call upon you and seek your help. You who always fulfilled God's will on earth, help me to do God's holy will. Intercede with the Giver of life, from whom all parenthood proceeds, that I may conceive and raise children who will please God in this life, and be heirs to the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

Baby dust to all of you.

Mishy how thoughtful of you to share this!
Another LIW lady gave it to me & I posted it once but its so welcomed again!!

Re: To the TTc's

Hey Michele-
I am not TTC at this time but I wanted to tell you about
one of my good friends. She just turned 45, her husband is 42 & she is 6 months prego!!!!
They had one failed pregnancy a few years ago. Then tried IF & IV for a few years & then basically gave up. Her gyn even told her she was starting menopause!!! These things do happen, there is even a whole school of thought that says its takes a few years for the fertility treatments to 'take' in some women. How many people do you know that adopted after IF didn't work & then they conceived? I can think of three couples that I know.
I just wanted to send you some , don't give up.

During our TTC months, I felt that frustration too so I know (somewhat) how you feel.

I know it's hard, but please don't give up. Hang in there.

Michelle/Jenn/Lisa/Diane and all the other TTC's...

I don't know your pain and disappointment, but just wanted to offer some hugs. Please try to always keep some hope alive in your hearts. While I did not have any issues conceiving Paul, I do fear the potential difficulties in conceiving #2, ever since I was diagnosed with PCOS. I am so afraid that the longer I wait, the more difficult it will become.

My friends also, know not to tell me anymore, 'relax it will happen' and 'try not to stress', they know I don't want to hear that, so they don't even say it anymore. (TTC know how those words are to hear )

I am not anywhere near TTC (I need to find a hubby first! ) but I can understand how frustrating it is when someone says to you 'dont worry about it, or relax, ect'. That is the worst thing for someone to hear although the person who says it means well. That can be applied to dilemma that we come across in life. We have all been told that at one time or another. It also makes it hard when some people offer advice on what to do/what not to do, because at some level, you feel like they are saying that you are doing something wrong to cause this situation, even if they are really not. I cant say that I know how you feel, because I dont, and to pretend to even begin to understand I wont do. But I do want to wish you and all the others the best of luck and many prayers for a happy, healthy pregnancy.

Re: To the TTc's

Michelle,
I feel your pain. I know what its like to not be spontaneous and pray that this is the cycle that you get lucky. I also know what its like to cry in the bathroom the second AF arrives. I watched people around me having honeymoon babies and getting pregnant by chance. I know its not fair. And I know so many ladies here know that feeling.
I can't give you any advice- just know you are not alone. I learned that here, on this board. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay positive!

Re: To the TTc's

I too have been TTC for over two years and it is extremely frustrating. I have been poked and prodded and more people have seen my YA then I care to admit! The irony is that throughout my H.S. and College relationships (there were two) I tried so hard not to become preggo and now, I can't get pregnant if it were to save my life! My DH has been great but I know it has been rough on him too. I am suppose to go to the RE on Monday 2/23 but I have decided not to go. I am tired from vacation and need a break! I ovulate tomorrow and we will begin to s-x it up this week and we will wait for AF to come again!

I must admit that I am envious of women who on their first try conceive. While away on vacation, the mean family had 3 children and some even 5-6. I just want to have one! That is all! It has been such a roller coaster that my DH has begun to say 'Maybe it isn't in the plan for us to have children' and I know that maybe in the larger sense it isn't, but damn it is in MY plan to have children.

So the quest still continues and if all else fails we will try IUI this summer.

I am grateful to have this forum to speak out and to Jennbaby for listening to me! To all of the TTCers, tons of Baby Dust to us all!

Re: To the TTc's

All I can say is -- I am soooooo sick of having sex all the time ! LOL

Each month I get AF -- I just think --' Oh no -- another month' LOL

Just trying to lighten the mood a little !

But seriously--
I am blessed to have Aidan. And now that we have been trying for 5 months and nothing -- it is very frustrating. They told me I would have trouble getting pregnant before Aidan -- and we were not even trying with him. Now that we are trying -- nothing. People keep telling me to not ' stress' about it -- How can't I ? I feel more and more stressed each month. I cant imagine what those of you trying for a long time moust feel.

I am sending Baby dust to all those TTC-- and just keep trying ! Anything worth while -- is worth trying for! We can all be sick of sex together!!!

I just want to offer some to all of you. I haven't even tried to get pregnant but I still can't imagine the pain you feel. I just hope you keep some of the hope alive and try not to give up ... although I know that may fee; like the easiest option at times.

Re: To the TTc's

I did not realize how many of us where going through this.

Michelle - I know exactly how you feel. We had our first IUI last Tuesday, and I am sitting on pins and needles again waiting to see if AF arrives, and doing so much praying.

I am keeping all of you wonderful ladies in my prayers as well. I know soon we all will be getting together, babies in tow, at the park to celebrate. I know it's hard but I try to keep a positive attitude (although most months I feel like this )

2 years of TTC, 3 miscarriages, numerous tests and more procedures and blood tests than I can count and we still have no answer. Will I give up..NO... do I want to??? at times yes, but like LisaW so beautifully said you look at your DH and somehow it makes you want to try again.

Lots of love and baby dust to all

Re: To the TTc's

I totally understand how you TTCers are feeling,
Its such a emotional roller coaster each month, and once AF comes there is a breakdown, and then it starts all over.

I have been only trying for 7 months,
but it seems all around me, many of my close friends are getting pregnant, some already have kids and are like oh we didnt expect it to happen right away, of course I am happy for them, but also very jealous.

I am afraid to pick up my phone (just kidding).

I also seem to be planning my life around getting pregnant, and it just hard not to.

My husband wanted to go back to Hawaii for our 1st Year Anniversaryin March BUT Since
I was so planning to be pregnant that I never looked into anything.
So thats why know I am trying to put together a quick weekend away.

I am trying not to be obsessed, but as you all know its hard and you cant turn your emotions on or off.

Thanks for letting me share.
and best of luck to you all.
You are all in my Prayers.

Re: To the TTc's

I just want to send to all the TTCer's. I know what a emotional rollercoaster TTC can be. I know that sometimes nothing anyone says can help.

At first, I was one of the lucky ones - I got pregnant our first try. Unfortunately. I had a miscarriage.

Then, I had trouble for 9 months TTC. It was a horrible time for me and my DH. Finally, I had to take a break - emotionally and financially. Our insurance does not cover fertility treatments and we knew we needed to save and re-evaluate what our options were.

Then during our second month of the 'Break' when I was doing everything wrong (I went back to the gym, I drank coffee, I shoveled 20 inches of snow during the snow storm, We moved to a new home and I lifted and moved furniture and boxes) - that is when I became pregnant.

I know for me when I was TTC, the women on the board were a God send - it was great to be able to talk to others who were going through the same thing. I know everyone's road to pregnancy is different. I wish you all tons of babydust and hugs on your TTC road.
