To Veil or Not to Veil

Original post by naopleasant

I have been having a conversation with FH about whether or not to wear a veil covering the face on the day of the wedding. I am currently undecided. We all know what it means by tradition. I'm just curious to know how many of you will or will not be wearing veils covering your face.

I'm wearing a veil. I wanted a blusher also but then i started to think of shows where the dad removes the blusher and pushes it back but it never seems to land perfectly. its always sticking up on one side or something! i dont want that in my pics!

too funny. i kno what you mean

I actually just added a blusher to my veil...I think it's super dramatic for the whole church thing...

i probably won;t wear one covering my face as i am walking dwon aisle by self (dad deceased) and I would have imagined him pulling it back for me that day

I feel the same way as you. I am walking down with my mom, but it's just something i always pictured him doing.

My dad is also deceased and I think that is a tradition reserved for him. My mom is walking me down the aisle and she is being very traditional about her role as well as my father's and will not do anything he was suppose to do. I will have a veil but not covering my face. I have my dress ordered but I haven't even started looking at tiaras or veils yet.

i'm going to wear a mantilla veil so i'm not going to wear another veil in front of my face

I have a cathedral length veil and I'm leaning toward the blusher, but I'm not completely sure.

I'm definitely wearing a veil but not 100% sure if it will be covering my face, well see

i'm not wearing a blusher or a veil. it's not me, so i'm going with flowers.

Definitely wearing the cathedral veil AND the blusher. I couldn't imagine myself NOT wearing them.

I'm getting a small veil that I'm only going to wear for the ceremony that won't cover my face. I'm only getting it because it will look pretty and kind of complete that bride look.

I probably will. . . but I honestly have not thought about it before now.

i might wear a blusher. i'm not sure yet. when i tried it on i thought i looked silly but my mom kept uncouraging it and kept talking about my father pulling it back.

Re: To Veil or Not to Veil

I have a cathedral length veil (I totally did not expect to get one, my family said it looked better because it didn't mask the back of my dress)

a bun wrap (a sort of flexible headband with embellished ends)

and I don't think I want a blusher, my mom wants me to have one and I felt almost clastrophobic with it on!

I was wondering if I would want everyone to see me without it right away or if I wanted to save my look for just FH... I think no blusher...
