One of my BM is consumed with wanting a shawl to wear over her dress and her daughters dress. When she first mentioned it to me it was because she didnt want to show her arms in her dress. Now Im not trying to be biotchy but how is this different from wearing a bathing suit . She is just fine with that. So FFWD 3 months and she brings it up again. At first I was like NO WAY!! then she says well I wont be wearing it down the aisle or in pics just if I get cold (Hmmm) and then she says its better than a sweater that I could throw over it. (what???)
if shes not wearing it down the aisle or in pics then i think its fine

Re: to wrap or not to wrap
My MOH is the same way she is very self consciious and she wouldn't budge about her arms so I had my dress maker to add cup sleeves to her dress so that she will be comfortable

honestly be glad she asked bc if it were me i would've brought a shawl with me not thinking it would've been a big deal at all. I usually bring one to weddings and if i know i wont wear it down the aisle or in pics i would think it was fine

As long as she isn't wearing during the ceremony or in pics then its fine. I bring one with me to weddings because i always get cold.
I am thinking of buying wraps for my girls that they can use if they get cold.

She wanted to get one the same color and material as the dress and was afraid that she couldnt get it from the bridal store. I usually bring one too when I go out but I think she wanted to wear it the whole time.

if she's not going to wear it down the aisle or during photos, then i don't see why she shouldn't wear a shawl.
my brother got married in late October and we Bridesmaids had halter tops and took photos outside. I had thought ahead and made a shawl from material that matched the color of the dress...while we waited during the outdoor phot shoot, i had it on (it was WINDY!!!) and the other BMs were jealous of the shawl!
May can be a funny month in terms of weather...let her wear a shawl if she wants...JMHO

i dont really see the problem? she wont be wearing it in pictures... but she wants something to cover her up.
My cousin asked me the same thing. she wanted to know if she could order a shawl to match because she isnt comfortable with her arms. she told me she wouldnt wear it int he church or for pictures.. i told her she could if she wanted.. they are doing a favor for us by being in our BPs i dont think we have a right to have them feel uncomfortable because of our own reasons

You know thinking about it now its really not an issue and I can see why you are asking 'hey chick whats the big deal??'.. I suppose really I have underlying issues with her and I keep going back to her trying on te dress and complaining the whole time that it doesnt look good until the attendant adjusted it and ti looed good. Sorry Im PMSing.

Agreed. I would do the same. I am always getting cold and don't think twice about bringing a cover-up of some sort

She's not wearing it down the aisle or in pics so it shouldn't matter. I think she def needs one for her daughter!! Don't want anyone to be cold and cranky!!

I think it's totally fine! As long as she doesn't have for pics.... I would have no problem with her wearing it.

I don't think it matters if she's not wearing it in pics. I think it would look good. I feel the same way about my arms.

Re: to wrap or not to wrap
I got my girls all shawls from macys that actually is sheer and on the bottom is satin and matches the dress (black) why not just find something you like instead of leaving it up to her.
I have to say if hte fg dress is sleevless you should have something on her to cover her up because april can be still cold.
