tried on gowns for the first time. I went to Macy's in the Smithhaven mall and looked at demetrios dresses. I found 3 that I thought were beautiful but I didn't fall in love with them. My mom said you will know when you know it's the dress. How did you guys know when you found 'the gown'? Did you cry? Where are other good places to look for affordable gowns?

It took me over 20 dresses for me to finally realize mine was the one. I actually bought it 3 weekends ago. You'll know because once you find the one, you'll never want to take off the dress or keep on looking at the picture of you in the dress (like what I do everyday at work and home). Don't pressure yourself and trust me, you'll find the one soon!! Good luck. I have mine in my album if you would like to see it.
In terms of where to go, I would recommend Bridal Suite of Bayshore (but of course, I see a lot of mixed review on this website), bridal suite of centereach, Commack wedding center (they can be very rude sometimes) and these were the only places I've gone too. I have to say, Commack Wedding Center is not the cheapest place. I actually got my dress from the Bridal Suite of Bayshore about $150 cheaper than what Commack Wedding Center was asking for. The cheapest would be Philis at Gown Find. She quoted me about $300 cheaper then what I paid for. I didn't get the dress from her since she responded back to me after I already purchased the dress. I love your dress. Beautiful!! I was actually going to go to the bridal suite of bayshore to check it out soon. My FH says I should go there all the time cuz he lives in bayshore.

How was it at Macy's Bridal??? How were the people, selection, & prices. I want to look there.

I thought the lady there was really nice. She was really helpful. I tried on like 10 dresses there. The prices for the three I saw that I really liked were $1,200, $1,300 and $875. The price was not to bad I guess but I wanted to spend alittle less then that. The $875 dress was very pretty. The selection there was just demetrios dresses. The only thing I didn't like was I couldn't take pics..That was annoying.. Other wise I would give them a B+ on service. HTH.

I knew it was the dress when I got goose bumps all over! All the hair on my arms stood up and I got all tingly!!!!!! Thats how I knew!!!!!!!!

try paradise bridal in patchogue.. i payed 680 which wasnt bad at all for a maggie dress and they are sooo nice
oh and i cried along with my mom, grandmother and moh

You will just know THE dress. I didnt cry nor did my mom, FMIL or Kamille -but -when I tried that dress on everyne including myself agreed this was it. Good luck! For some people it take 2 dresses while others it may take 20! dont worry though youll find it!

I tried on about 15 dresses one day. I wasn't liking any of them. Finally the lady that was helping me brought me one more dress and just looking at it on the hanger I fell in love w/ it. And sure enough when I put it on and stepped out of the dressing room, my sisters and mom were in tears (they didn't cry for any other dress). That is how I knew it was the one.
