Today was the second time in 5 years I have seen FH cry

His mother lives in Romania....
FH is an American city...
In order for her to come visit she needs permission from the US embassy which is in Romania...

She brought proof that we are really having a wedding...

Fox Hollow contract
Florist contract
DJ contract
Dress reciept
Wedding band receipts....
Photographer receipt

This morning she had the interview this morning and they refused they just asked her how old she is and she is 52... they asked her if she works and she said yes...... same job as a nurse for 25 years.....

She owns a house that is worth 500,000 Euros....

They said that she represents a risk that she would remain here in the US illegally.....

FH cried....
he only has me here....
his brother is coming from South Africa....
his other family is coming from France but his mother will not be there....

He is so sad...

I just felt I needed to share....

Anyone else have someone that they want to be there on their day but they can't be there...

I would call your local representative and see if they can make any calls. I would definetely not give up so easy. We had family in Croatia that had some issues with the embassy there for my sister's wedding but in the end we worked it out. Unless a relative of hers overstayed a visa in the US, my experience has been that they will work with you.

Hey Michaela... I am so very sorry for your FH. That's terrible that they think she's a flight risk. Your poor FH. At least he has you - who loves him and supports him. I am so sorry.

Call all your political representatives, Congressman, Senator etc. Does this mean that if she wanted to just come here for a vacation she couldn't do that? WOW could you imagine if we all had to ask permission to go on a vacation.

I am so sorry. I know how hard it is for your FH to think of getting married with out his mom. I would agree on trying to call the embassy. Don't give up!!!!
