i went for my fourth fitting today... and after three hours of arguing and lots of tears.... everyone (including the owner) agreed that they are going to have to order me a new dress... and my wedding is next sunday

after having been taken in, alot of the seams in the front of the dress were puckering up... also, alot of the fabric is pulled.... the dress was not wearable and not fixable, even the owner had to finally agree... also, the quality of my dress on the inside, the fabric is very different from the original dress... the sample had raw silk and padding on the inside, mine had only polyester, so there was not enough structure to hold the dress up and keep it from puckering and making lots of defects. i have no idea if the new one will be in on time, they are sending mine back to the designer, along with the sample... i am afraid that even when the new one comes in next week, the seamstresses will not be able to tailor it :(

I know you may not want to hear this option, but you could just get your money back from the store (since they messed up) and buy something off the rack. That way you ensure you get your dress.

OMG!! I can't believe this happened to you!!! Keep us informed and I am sure everything will work out for you, but if you're really worried - I would suggest getting a dress off the rack from another store!

Oh Gosh I am so sorry!!! I would recommend buying a sample dress and getting your money back!! Thats what I did and I was able to start my fittings right away.

thank you for all your replies... i am pretty much burned out, my brain wont even work right anymore... i'm kinda of having post traumatic shock right now... i guess when they come back from memorial day weekend i will got back to the store and see what they can do about giving me one off the rack...


i have learned a very valuable life lesson though... it is better to keep your money in your pocket and spend it on things that really matter in life... not superficial things like dresses and expensive catering halls and overpriced honeymoons.... i feel like i spent an arm and a leg on vendors that were way overated... this dumb dress was a ton of money and it is not even wearable... i have seen beautiful brides in less expensive dresses... i guess beauty really does radiate from within
