So, I'm up at the crack of dawn (or what feels like it) to get ready to go dress shopping today!!! My best friend is on a bus right now from Buffalo, where she lives, to come dress shopping with me, and my mom, FMIL and another bridesmaid are coming too!!
Going to Village Bridal in Babylon for my first appointment, and then to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place for their Lazaro trunk show.
Just not sure if I'm ready to pull the trigger on actually buying a dress!! For those of you ladies who have already bought your dress, did you have that 'overwhelming, over the top, brings tears to your eyes' moment, or did you just know what looked good and what felt good on you?
I'm constantly worried about making the wrong choice. I have a very distinct vision in my head, and would like to get as close to it as possible, but I'm worried that if I make the wrong decision now, the next year and 2 months is going to be a nightmare!!
I'm excited, but I'd love some reassurance that I'm not completely out of my mind!!!

Wah I wish I had advice...But good luck, go with your gut!
I didn't buy my dress yet, but GOOD LUCK and have fun! I've been swearing up and down to everybody that I won't get that feeling for 'the dress,' but I hope I'm wrong!

crashing, you know my story because you saw it on a different thread.. my biggest piece of advice is to have fun, and GO WITH YOUR GUT! Don't let anyone talk you into something YOU are not comfortable in!!! Don't settle and if you don't find something in the first 2 stores, keep looking..

Definitely go with an open mind, I went thinking I was going to get something completely different but ended up with someone else. I didn't cry but my mom got teary and we both knew I looked stunning in it (as obnoxious as that sounds its just true lol)
Have a great time today!!!!

I didn't order my dress yet but I know which one I want! I didn't have that 'OMG THIS IS MY DRESS *tears tears tears*' moment. I just knew. I was stuck between two dresses and after trying them on one after the other, I knew which one was right for me. My family as well as my FH's family aren't very emotional people. We all just knew it was the right dress. I didn't order it on the spot though. I wanted a couple of weeks to let it sink in and make sure it's the one I wanted.

Have fun! I knew I loved my dress when I put it on but didn't immediately have that teary oh my god moment. It was only the second dress I tried on and so while I loved it I still had that worry in the back of my mind that I might like something better. I tried on like 15 other dresses but kept comparing them all to that one so then I knew. When I went back to try it on again and buy it, then i got teary cause then i was certain it was mine! Everyone's different, just relax, have fun and go with your gut! Hope you had a wonderful dress shopping day
YAYYY! Have fun!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Crashing!
I'm not one to get overly emotional about things and personally, I'm not sure I understand WHY people cry when they buy their dress haha.... however, personally I had a pretty clear idea what I was looking for and what I thought I'd be happy with. I bought my dress a year and 3 months before my wedding. I was definitely having trouble finding what I was specifically looking for, but then once I found it... I just knew it was the right one. It felt & looked great on me and every one in the store literally stopped to look and compliment me! It was pretty awesome.
I did have my MOH & my Mother pick some dresses out that they thought I'd like and I tried them on... but I went with the one that just felt RIGHT.
Good luck and enjoy the process!!!

Thanks ladies!!!
I tried on lots of dresses, and found again that I like the same two styles. And, of course, I choose Lazaros and more expensive dresses than I had planned to spend.
I loved 2 Lazaros, LZ3251 (one of the ones I tried on last time), and LZ3300 (something I saw on the website and HAD to try on). I'd love anyone's opinions!!
I also realized that I think I want to go shopping again with just my mom, because although I was happy that the others who came with me were there, it was just too many opinions, and I felt very overwhelmed and almost unable to think.
Thanks for the well wishes! Let me know what you think about the dresses!!!

Definitely go with your Mom. A piece of advice my FMIL gave me was to just go with my mom and sister. My FSIL took her mom and bridal party with her when she went dress shopping for her wedding and she got overwhelmed and it was a bad experience the next time she just took her mom and it was a great experience and she found her dress that day. She said after you can always bring everyone but start off easy.
