Too early to bridezilla out?

Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by talking about your wedding? We've only booked the RH and we are booking DJ, LIMO, officiant and photographer this month and at first the questions were fun, now I feel annoyed when people keep blowing me up about the wedding. My mom is like WHAT AM I WEARING and my MOH is like OK WE NEED TO DECIDE WHAT DECOR WE WANT and my FSIL wants to decorate and is like WHATS NEXT ON THE LIST and I just feel like everyone is harassing me about it! am I showing early signs of being a bridezilla or is the stress just piling on already?? ugh doesn't help that life is bringing the stress right now!

Too early to bridezilla out?

You're not showing early signs of anything!! I think stress comes with the job of being a bride, and we all have our own ways of handling it.

I cried every day for 3 months while searching for a RH. I felt like we were never going to find one, and that we'd never end up getting married or we'd have to settle. Once we booked that, I stressed (literally lost sleep) over trying to find a photog/videographer. Everything feels like the BIGGEST decision of your life, which, up til this point, it could very well be.

What I did when my mom and FMIL started asking a lot of questions was start emailing/texting them, and for about 2 weeks that was the only means of communication I had with them. That way I could answer their questions short and sweet and didn't have to make excuses as to why I wasn't fully answering their questions.

I also made a timeline and checklist of all the things that need to get done, and when they need to get done by, and told them that I'd email them to let them know when I was going to start looking for each thing on the list. They could participate in it if they'd like, but I didn't want to hear about it before I was ready to discuss it. It may have seemed harsh at the time, but they saw how much I was stressing out.

Just do one thing at a time. That's what I did. I didn't start looking for a florist until after I decided on a photo/video company. And now that I did the florist, I'm looking at bands. And after that, I'll do dresses. Doing it all at once may be too overwhelming.

Good luck, and just know that you're not being a bridezilla at all!

Too early to bridezilla out?

I have a binder to keep myself organized. And lists and lists and lists. FH says if we had to write our own vows, mine would be a checklist. LOL

I have dividers for every vendor, and those clear sheet protectors for every contract or quote I get. (I'm moving the quotes to the back of the binder as I sign contracts.)

If you want to know more details, feel free to FM me. I'm a terrible organizer and I stress about everything. I have anxiety about most things in life, so I'm trying to do everything I can to keep this experience anxiety free.

Too early to bridezilla out?

I bridezillad out about 2 weeks after we got engaged!! It's an emotional time and obviously super stressful. Everything was so smooth for us in the beginning and now some things are going awry and I'm going a little nuts. You're definitely not alone!

Too early to bridezilla out?

It's definitely overwhelming doesn't make you a bridezilla. We are in the process of finding a venue and everytime we come home from one my mom is like 'so are you going to book it' Jeez can we breathe for a second? Just try to relax and take everything in stride. Easier said than done I know.

Just tell your mom you know a girl who saw 35 venues before choosing, so as long as you don't see that many, you're doing great!! LOL

Too early to bridezilla out?

I get bridezilla-like when my family takes their enthusiasm to the next level. I am so happy they are excited and want to be involved, but I was only being nice when I said your centerpiece idea is pretty. Please don't go out and buy the pieces of it! This is a true story. What I want to hear is how great my ideas are haha. When I say that, FH starts to sing the bridezilla music....for the record he is the one that told his parents they wouldn't be invited if they threw a fit about anything, he is the zilla!
