So I went to a bridal house today which the service was great and the people were great...BUT I found a elbow length circle veil and a swavorski cyrstal comb to wear in my hair. The veil with crystals is 665 and the comb is 315. Is this nuts??

not according to how much veils go for. I wanted to get an elbow length with just small pearls and crystals on the end and thy wanted $300 or more. I think some girls on here even spent more than 1k for theirs.

Too much for me. My two tier fingertip with swarowski crystals all along both edges was $175.

It depends where you go. Many girls here have gone to Barrons and they got their veils for a very reasonable price. If you stick to the boutiques they might be a little more, especially when they show you designer veils. I know the EOM veils are over 1K. When i went to kleinfelds I tried on a veil that was 3K. GORGEOUS~ but way too expensive.

I think too much as well. I paid less than $200 at David's Bridal I'm pretty sure and even then I was like what the hell?! How could this possible cost so much money?! At least a dress you wear the whole day but the veil you'll most likely take off after the ceremony, especially if it's a cathedral length.

I think that's a little much for a veil. I'm sure its beautiful but I'm sure you can find something just as nice for 1/2 that price. JMO

biggest waste of money is a veil - my mom purchased mine for $250 and i am still trying to sell it and get some of the money $75 since I only wore it for one day. I mean there is nothing I can do with it! Try barrons or try to buy off another bride.

Honestly a piece of chiffon or whatever it is should not be 100's of dollars but unfortunatley they are.
I am very tempted to make one because I cannot understand it!!!
What does your veil look like that you are selling? My dress is a light ivory and I think I want something simple, cathedral....maybe.....................

Yes and no. It's not nuts if: 1. You really love it, and 2. You can afford it!!
I got my dress at Priscilla of Boston and they have a ton of combs and hair pieces that are all $250-350!! It's a lot. I'm in retail so I cringe at these prices, because I know what they really cost/wholesale for. There are veils that are a lot more than $665 depending on the length and detail, etc. I say if you love it and can afford it, it's not nuts. I personally want the most simple veil and couldn't believe it was $200!!! It's two pieces of tulle! Not a crystal or pearl or ribbon! Anyway, I'm going to Barron's at Tri County Flea Market on Sunday to see if they have one or can make me one for less. We shall see! Good luck. Did you get any pics of this veil?

My veil is from Pronovias- $240, two tier, Cathedral length with crystals all along the edges. Pics in my album.
When I saw it, I was afraid it might be in the $1k range...needless to say, I'm beyond happy!

Way too much for me......I cant see spending that kind of money on something I am only going to wear for and hour or two....cause mine is coming off as soon as we get to the reception

OUCH! That's too much for this girl Some people might think that's a great price, but personally I couldn't even bring myself to spend that kind of money on that stuff. But, like I said, that's just me. I'd rather get a nice new couch that I am desperately in need of!

I got mine at Barons thanks to the recommendations from the ladies on this site. It was 175 and beautiful -- elbow length with swarovski crystals.
