Too much MONEY!!!

Original post by KL824

So, my FH would kill me if he knew I was thinking this ...but does anybody else feel like they are spending way too much money??

The RH alone is a huge expense...but now that we're looking into everything else (photographers, music, dresses, etc etc etc), I just can't believe how much the total cost is going to be in the end.

I know everyone stresses about money, but sometimes I second guess our decision (THIS is why he'd kill me lol)...and think we should have looked for a more reasonably priced place or at least decided on a lower budget. How do I stop worrying about this and just enjoy the wedding planning bliss?!? It's somewhat holding me back.

I felt like that yesturday!!! FH tells me all the time to stop stressing b/c we have to remember that this is what we both wanted and shouldn't be regretting our decision. In the end we will have our dream wedding with the man we love and thats all that matters

Re: Too much MONEY!!!

Just had this discussion with my FH! We've only booked the RH and church, and now worried about going over our budget with the vendors. it seems like CHCC's preferred vendors-and vendors in general- charge an arm and a leg for something so basic!

I don't want to spend $2500 on a 'basic' photography package or said amount on DJ with added bonus on MC duties. I think we splurged enough on dream RH (although still a great deal!) so I'm more than willing to cut corners with everything else and be 'basic.'

Courtney, I see you're having your reception at Verdi's. It was the first place we went to with my best friend, and we really liked it. did you meet with Mike?

I think realistically only you and your FH know your bank account - if throwing a 30,40,50,60,70K+ wedding is going to leave you in any sort of debt, there is a problem - no 5 hour party in the world is worth putting yourself into financial ruins. If you haven't signed contracts for any of the major vendors - Reception Hall / Photography / Video / Flowers / Music - Band-DJ / Dress I would highly suggest you shop around - we have soooo much time (esp since you are also a Sept bride) and really try to negotiate prices - and if you guys are finding that it is out of your price range maybe regroup and figure out something that is still nice but in your price range; ie: dinner party at a really nice restaurant - I know someone who did this and heard it was fabulous and without the $50K price tag!!! HTH!!
