I've been silently reading posts for a few months so thanks for your advice thusfar!
I have narrowed down my top 3 venues and would like any and all thoughts! I used to work in a catering hall so this has been a tough road for me.
Top 3 (in no order)
Land's End- Sayville Crescent Beach Club- Bayville Bridgeview Yacht Club- Island Park
Thoughts on food/staff/site/etc would be appreciated! We are going to look again at all three this weekend.
Thanks :)

Lands End bride here so I am partial
ETA: Lovin Oven is the real reason we booked LE. Their food is not typical wedding food. It is unique and very yummy! LE may be expensive, but you get what you pay for!

I'm getting married at Flowerfield which is owned by the same company as Land's End and the company is known for the best food and service on LI for catering. I also attended a wedding at Land's End and enjoyed it very much.
Crescent....I know of people who got married there and they loved it. It was my first pick until I went there. I was turned off by how pricey the place was in relation to every other place and then they nickle and dime you on top of it. I remember something ridiculous for chair covers was like 10 bucks a chair! I never bothered to try and negotiate b/c I was turned off when every other place threw it in for free or for 2/3 bucks max.
Bridgeview..I never went to a wedding there nor did I bother to look there b/c I live close by and always had as a teen and EVERYONE in the neighborhood goes there for the club and it was a turn off for me.
Good luck making a decision - it certainly is hard!

I totally agree. I think in the end it will come down to which place creates the atmosphere that you are going for. In case you need some help deciding, I can tell you about my experiences.
I have been to two weddings at BYC and they were both amazing. The service is outstanding, the food is delicious, you will never hear one person who has been to a wedding there have anything negative to say about BYC. Your guests will be very happy.
I booked BYC and I am beyond happy. Eric, the banquet manager, has been beyond helpful and accomodating. I am making my own centerpieces and doing a lot of the decor myself. I thought I was going to have to hire a DOC to set it all up, but Eric said he would set it up for me. I have gone down there a few times to test out my centerpieces to see what I need to add to the tables and he has helped us to flush out all of the details.
The main reason I booked there is because I had always had a great experience at weddings and because I wanted a stress free experience with the RH. My two friends who were married there both said they could not believe how stressfree their day and planning experience was.
Best of luck to you!!!!

Just want to respond to the above and note that Bridgeview has not been operating as a night club for over 8 years and it was renovated and looks nothing like the club from years ago. I also live in the area and noone goes to BYC to 'club' it any longer. There are clubs and bars in proximity to BYC, perhaps that is what you are referring to.

And that's fine. I simply stated my opinion that having lived in the area growing up when it was a club that it just wasn't a place that I looked at b/c I wanted something different b/c I associate a night club with the name. Doesn't mean it's not beautiful or a good RH.

I know you are expressing you opinion ...I just wanted to clarify it for people because it is still a common misconception about the place.

Re: Top 3
I recently went to visit Bridgeview Yacht Club and I loved it!!! The ballroom is awesomeeeeeee.
My FH is very nervous because the nightclub 'Warehouse 5' is attached the the deck at Bridgeview the wedding hall. I am getting married in 2012 and when I asked what nights the clubs operate I was told a very basic and not specific answer which scared me. Warehouse 5 is relatively new and no brides have been married there since it's been open. I just don't want to hear club
If you can afford Lands End I heard its amazing and a lot of ppl would go there if it was cheaper. I am not even looking because I heard its very expensive. Good luck!!!! I wish I was narrowed down, venue shopping is stressful and time consuming.

Re: Top 3
I visited all three when I was looking for a RH and these were my opinions I do NOT wish to offend anyone:
Bridgeview: I didn't love the area around it (lumber yard across the street). The area for ceremony was a litle close to the street. Did really like the ballroom. A little worried about the condition of the docking, but they did say they it would be repaired. I actually liked the idea of have a club near by for an after party. Could not have an outdoor cocktail hr. Good prices very nice bounquet manager.
Cresent Beach Club: Had it in my mind that this was THE place before I went. Wasn't a fan of the carpet in the lobby and throughout. Great view and location. We had to wait a good 20 minutes for our appointment and banquet manager bashed other RH's and came across as tacky and made it very clear there was no room for negotations in price. Very nice ceremony location for outdoor did not like indoor option. Liked the options for bonfire and after party in the bar area. Fh was very worried about bad weather in such a beachy location.
Land's End: I'll start by saying I'm getting married there. Loved the idea of an outdoor cocktail hr and really liked the idea that it felt very private as if the place belonged to you. If had to have inside due to bad weather we felt ok with it. Liked the ceremony location, and that it felt away from the rd. Liked the lobby and the number of bars. Banquet manager was very nice and down to earth, and met with us multiple times with no pressure. Ballroom is plain and ceiling is ugly. Fh felt that decorating the celing was a must (so we had to add that in to budget). Did some price negotations but I don't think they throw in as much as some places.
Hope this helps....again these are my opinion and are not meant to insult anyone, we are all looking for different things and it was to be right for your situation.

Im getting married at Bridgeview and couldn't be happier. At first, I wanted to get married at Land's End but after seeing Bridgeview and comparing prices BV was def the way to go. Is one location closer to you?
