THEY SAID THAT THE CAKE DIDNT TASTE GOOD AT ALL...IT PRETTY MUCH WENT BAD EVEN THOUGH THEY FORZE IT. IS IT EVEN WORTH IT TO FREEZE IT???

Re: TOP OF CAKE
My BF and stepsister kept it and my BF said it was gross but my stepsister said hers stayed pretty good?? so maybe it depends on the baker and what the cake is made of like the frosting or cream? not sure but i dont think i would eat it lol after a year i will def do the tradition and maybe put a candle in it and make a wish both FH and I for more wonderful anniversarys to come and then eat a different cake lol.

Re: TOP OF CAKE
I am going to save it because it is tradition. I know that it is going to be freezer burnt and taste bad but it is just the idea of having it that would make me smile.

Re: TOP OF CAKE
We froze our cake top and ate it on our anniversary. Our cake was very good! We had a chocolate cake with rasberry filling and buttercream icing from Audrey's Bakery. We froze the cake in a tupperware container about the size of our cake (less air) and then wrapped it twice in aluminum foil. I think the key is not to let the cake get dried out. We defrosted by putting it in the refrigerator about 2-3 days before.

That is the same reason why we saved ours too.

I second this. I've heard from past brides on theknot that this is most effective way to preserve your cake.
