One of the places we are considering does not include Top Shelf liquor in the price. It is an extra $6 pp. Is this really necessary to have? FH and I are not drinkers so we don't know if people will be annoyed that they can't have grey goose. Can't they just get drunk off of something else?

Re: Top Shelf
ehh I think it would be the end of the world to not have top shelf. No matter what is being served to them, it's free for them so they really shouldn't care LOL

I say don't worry about it, I doubt anyone will even notice.

Re: Top Shelf
I think it depends on the scale of your event. If it's a big black tie event with a band, etc, then I'd expect the liquor to match.
That having been said I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think it's a small percentage who actually request brand name liquor. Most people will just request the mixed drink they want. I think $6pp is a lot to pay extra for something most people won't notice.

Re: Top Shelf
We're not even having an open bar. We're doing wine/beer, etc and a signature drink. If peeps want to get loaded they can do it after my wedding. We're also a daytime event

I wouldn't worry about it!! like someone said about, if the drinks are free, I don't think they'll mind the brand of liquor too much

THIS-
We are having top shelf liquor (which was also additional pp) However we are having a Black Tie event and FH would not have it any other way -NO Johnny Walker Black and he won't attend our own wedding

Re: Top Shelf
If you can afford it I personally would do it. If you can't swing it then don't. I think having more options of anything makes it better, but that is just my opinion.

Re: Top Shelf
Eh its not that big of a deal. If theres something in particular that you want (i.e grey goose) they may just add that in instead of the 'every' top shelf alcohol

Re: Top Shelf
I love grey goose so I am appreciative when it's available but I don't except it and wouldn't be mad if there was an alternative.
