My dad used to work for Con Edison. In about 1983, he was on strike for 9 weeks!

My dad has to pack a bag and stay at the plant if they strike ... I'm praying they don't strike either!!!!!! He missed half of my sweet 16 years ago because it was the day they were 'possibly' striking. He was home by midnight though!

My dad drove a cab in the middle of the night for those 9 weeks just to make ends meet in 1983 - it sucked!!!!!

Mine either. Two kids at home and my father out all over the city driving a cab. I remember her being very scared.

FH works for Con Ed too. I've already signed up to work overtime tomorrow and Sunday (luckily I have off Monday because it's a firm outing day). I need to make as much money as I can just in case because if there's a strike, our financial situation is going to be horrible because it's already bad now.
