its normal to have to order BM dresses in a much larger size

i wouldnt worry...if you or your BMs are worried, ask to see the size ordering chart...and it breaks down the measurements for each dress size

WHAT?!? My bm dresses are JH Occasions too! Ugh I better tell the girls to order them extra early just in case!!

yeah but they do have a sizing chart so sounds like they didnt order them correctly.

ie - the dress I love..I'm a size 6..sizing makes me a 12!

OMG you just made me even more nervous!!! I ordered a dress 5 months ago for my friends wedding and I have to go get it fitted next week. I had ordered a size smaller than I measured because I felt I would lose weight and i didn't want to order an 18. I hope to heck it fits!! I have lost weight recently but I think I'm just back to where I was when I got measured!!!

My dress is Jim Hjelm Occasions. They do run small. My petite sister tried on the sample size (which was a 10) and it fit her to a t. So stupid how they do that.

But don't stress about it as long as the girls are covered and fit in their dresses the day of your wedding.

it's bad for girls' self esteem, that's for sure!
they should do it in reverse...if you measure a size 10, their size should be a 6 - that would nice haha

This def was not meant to scare anyone... If your bridal consultant does a good job with sizing then you shouldnt have any problems (unless you have girls sizes 20+, might be risky) I mean, jim hjelm is in business for a reason, doesnt mean his dresses are bad just something to watch for with sizing I guess.. I'm still in love with several of his designs but now might steer clear

I am just frustrated cause I felt like someone should hav told me how small sizing runs so I could have prepared a bit more.. I was starting to regret my choice a tiny bit anyway, so this was like a push over the edge.. going tonight to look again and this time will bring BMs with me

it's annoying, but sometimes the place also tries to get you to order a larger size so they make the $$ on the alterations..

Yes mostly all places do this, so u have to pay for a plus size!!!!!
