I was in class at Queens College when it passed right out side our window! The whole campus is a wreck! Every tree was split down the middle, our bleachers are in the street, almost every car parked on the street had a tree ( either on it through it or next to it) and the lamp posts were ripped out of the ground!
It was chaos! To top it off, it took 2-1/2 hours to get to the LIE which is literally 400 feet from my school! There were down trees every where and they were making us drive on the sidewalk!
I am so glad to be home safe and sound!

I was at school lastnight in Commack & heard the lound thunder & the rain too!! dammm
By the time I got out at 9pm everything was done & over with.
I heard on the news that Nassau County was hit HARD lastnight

Im in Suffolk so it wasn't bad over here....Just some rain and thunder... I heard it was a disaster in Queens though!

I really feel so bad for all of the people who live in Queens! What a horrible thing to have happened...
I work in NYC so we got hit with some heavy rains and wind while I was walking to the subway to get to the LIRR.
Needless to say, the LIRR was shut down and it took me 4.5 hrs to get home (crammed in a subway)
So happy I got home safe!

OMG, I went to THHS on the Queens college campus....thats horrible that it was hit so bad! Glad that your safe!!!!

I work in Brooklyn, but I had left work before the storm hit. I saw all the aftermath this morning while walking to work. Trees down everywhere! They were still on peoples cars and I saw one tree in someones house.

oh man girls, I was going to ask about this! On the news it said terrible storms and winds went through NY and it showed video, and i'm here in Greenland going ***? Glad everyone is ok... crazy

oh yea we got hit, my car got hit by part of the roof of our building! A lot of damage and our neighborhood is a disaster area. Crazy!
