Total Wedding Budgets for Long Island

Total Wedding Budgets for Long Island

Hi All,

In all honesty...is it possible to do a high end wedding on Long Island with a total budget of $40,000? Or would I need more of a budget of $60,000? By high end, I mean a wedding at the Harrison House or the Carltun.

Just checking. I am currently trying to decide where to have my wedding.

Thanks!

I also forgot to mention that I would need to do it on a Saturday night in the Spring/Summer.

Thanks!

How many people? Your best bet is to call the places you're interested in to get quotes for the days/nights you want.

We are looking to have 175 guests on a Saturday night in the Spring/Summer of 2006

I see that you are having yours at Milleridge Cottage. Do you mind letting me know what you are paying per head for food/drink?

THANKS!

I have the 2005 pricing at home and I'm actually leaving in half an hour to go home so I'll FM you the prices when I get there.

I would say that 40,000 for that amount of guests on a saturday night during that time of year may be tight, but you have time to shop around a lot of vendors, it may be possible... I think closer to 60 would give you a lot more breathing room. Good luck!

It depends on what you pay for your other vendors. If you shop around and for example get a Dj instead of a band, and you don't add a lot to your menus, you could probably do it for $40k.

You should make an approximate budget including all vendors and see what you come up with.

What makes it high end???? I am paying way more than that for a Saturday night in April......
You will pay more than that at The Carltun especially for a Saturday night

What was your total budget? I am getting nervous...I want it to be gorgeous (meaning the best of the best - food, flowers, band, photos), and I think it may be easier to do it at Hotel Hershey for cheaper.

I'm not sure what's considered 'high end' - But any place on a Saturday night in the Spring/Summer is going to be more $$. -
I'm doing a Friday night in May.

If you're having 175 on a Sat night, $40,000 may be pushing.......but it all depends on how much you spend on everything else.......

Best of the Best of everything on a Sat night in Long Island is going to cost you more than $60,000 ......
Would you consider a Sunday or Friday ? That may cut your cost a LITTLE bit !!

Not for nothing but a wedding can be gorgeous no matter what price it is.

You best bet is to call or visit these places in person. Going in person makes it easier to negotiate.

I agree....there are ways to find less expensive things

you could spend more $$$ in some areas and less in others that are less important to you

My budget is $53,000 and we are getting married at the Carlyle on a Sunday night.

There was no way we could have gotten married there on a Satursday and still spend as much as we did on the band/flowers and photography and stay within the budget. In my opinion, if you choose a higher end hall, you can stay within the budget, barely for a Sat. but you need to really watch where and how you spend the rest of your money... my band was almost 6,000, so maybe opt for a d.j. My flower quote was a little over 3,000... for high candelabras, so maybe opt for lower centerpieces with a less expensive flower.

I truly think anything is possible..... but you just really need to be careful with where you spend your money.

oh i Looooooooooooooved Carlyle on the Green ! Your wedding is going to be so so so beautiful ! I loved that place from the second I walked in the door !! - For some reason, FH absolutely hated it (even w/ the golf course) so it was stricken from the list
