Totally insane to not take off on Friday if Im getting married on Sunday?

The reason I ask is because I cant only take off of work for a max of 10 days (2 work weeks)...I am really pushhing it with this and didnt even really ask but I know people have dont it before in my department and my boss wasnt that happy but dealt with it. So, if I take off on the Friday before my wedding which I always assumed I would, I have to come back the Friday of 2 weeks later. #1, this s*cks for obvious reasons and #2, if I have to come back that Friday, I am limited to a choice of 1 cruise which is still really nice and I would do it but there is another one that is cheaper by a couple hundred and I could see much more. So, even though Imk very organized, etc and plan on doing everything way in advance, Im sure its gonna be crazy that Friday, do you think I will regret it?

I am getting married on a Sunday and have considered this too. I have decided to take off of the Friday but, if it were an issue with my boss, i would work the Friday and keep the 2 weeks following off. If your anything like me, you will find it easier to sit at your desk that Friday and be so excited about your wedding weekend and hm, rather than cut your hm short and come back and think about how you could have been still on your HM. When I have weekend plans I am looking forward to, it makes it that much easier to get through a Friday so that's what I would do!

Thanks everyone for your advice and opinions. I think I will just be very prepared as much as possible and take the following 2 weeks after my wedding. I think I will regret more having to come back on a Friday from my HM more then having 1 less day off before the wedding.

I'm starting my PhD that semester and not taking off school on Friday (if I have class), and am getting married on Saturday.

So I don't think you're insane at all!

lol thanks!!

I WILL be chatting with my profs though if they try and assign me any crazy work that weekend.
I can just picture myself having to read like five novels and write an essay as I'm getting my hair done for the wedding or something.
