ugh my sister just asked me that last night- one of the girls for my bridal shower asked if she could bring her 8 month old- I said it was ok but only because I know she has no one to leave her with.

as a mom my gut says to say yeah let the baby no big deal.....however a baby always steals the show...wether mom means for it or not....so it truly depends on wether you mind the baby being the center of attention or not

Thank you thats what i said last night. My shower should not be the platform for introducing a baby to the family.

No kids should be in my presence, esp at my shower. I don't need help opening gifts, thanks.

no ... they can arrange another itme to meet the family...
i have recent babies... and they always steal the show.. even when the arranged gathering was to discuss wedding stuff, see teh ring, or plan the wedding...
it was ALWAYS OH LA LA LOOK AT THE BABY?! it still is... but im over it...
if the family has not met the baby.. they will forget it was a shower for u.. IMHO

As long as you are ok with someone else getting attention that day then I don't see the big deal. Me personally I love babies so this is something I wouldn't think twice about.
also keep in mind, if she is a first time mom she may not be comfortable leaving the baby for that extended period of time yet.

This is your party and you shoudl be the center of attention. People should just espect other peoples wishes even if they do not agree! JMO

I love kids so it wouldn't bother me at all but Kelly is right, a baby does tend to steal the attention. That would be perfectly okay with me though.

it seems like you just posted this to get validation for your opinion... if you feel so strongly against it (which it seems you do) there was prob no reason to even post it... you seem like you know what you want to do... this will prob come out as b*tchy but you get my drift

I have a 9 year old and my FH has a 5 year old and I keep thinking the same thing. I'm going to make then in charge of making the stupid bow hat...that way they will let me open my presents!
How about the baptisim...people can meet the baby there. Or tell the parents to have their own party!
