A good rule of thumb that my cousin suggested is if the baby is still breast feeding they should be allowed to come. I think it is a common courtesy to the baby and the mom.

i dont think your a bridezilla if you dont want the baby there thats your opinion and people should respect that since its your party.
i have a soft spot for babies and i love to have them around so for me it would be a no brainer to have the baby come its not big deal it will prob sleep and eat the whole time not causing a comotion. so i think its totally up to you. but dont feel bad saying no.

no problem. but def. dont feel bad. if the sole purpose for the baby being there is to 'meet the family' then i think thats kinda silly and i wouldnt feel bad saying no at all... if its because the mom cant find a sitter and the dads working and the rest of the family is at the shower then i think thats much more understandable and would prob. make the decision a bit easier.

exactly. i mean im not a mean person. if it was dire circumstance where no one could watch the baby or whatever then its fine but to meet the family? its not the place

It's your shower and you should do what YOU want. If it were me, I would probably give in because it wouldn't bother me that much but if will bother you, don't allow it!

i have the same issue that will come up - FHs daughter will be 5 then and is always the center of attention - atleast it isnt as sticky that she isnt that close in the family - i would do what you want on this one - but i dont think ANYTHING can take the spotlight off of a bride, i would personally be more nervous having the 8 year old there stealing the spotlight than the baby, hopefully she will eat and sleep...

I don't think that you are being a bridezilla it is your day and it's your opinion. I personally wouldn't mind but I would say it's totally your call on how you feel

I totally agree. I haven't had my shower yet but...if I know the crowd...drinks will be flowing, and IMO...it's not a place for kids, babies and MEN!!!

I answered no... not because I think it's an inappropriate place for an infant, but because I'd imagine that that infant's mother would want to enjoy her time and would be able to do so without a child to look after.... but then again, an infant that small is pretty easy to take care of because it will most likely sleep the whole time.
Honestly... I wouldn't worry about it...
ETA: If you say that you don't want the baby there than you run the risk of having one less person there to celebrate with you... KWIM? In any case, it's your choice.

Thank you thats what i said last night. My shower should not be the platform for introducing a baby to the family.
I agree completely.

I wouldn't mind if someone brought their baby to my shower. No one ever brings babies to showers in my family though since It's more of an adult event. It's so hard for someone to have a good time and also worry about taking care of the baby too.
