Trading Spaces that is on now

I'm sorry I have to say this. I can't stand Hildy.

She's putting up corrugated cardboard on walls in a bedroom. WITH NAIL GLUE.

First off, can she be more cheezy? IT'S CARDBOARD. I mean yes be frugal but come on.

And nail glue? The people were saying 'how would you get that off' (because no one in their right mind would want to have that sh*t on their walls) and Hildy says 'well why do you want to know - we are not interested in how to take it down, just how to put it up'. Granted yes but hello....it's CARDBOARD.

I think I would cry.

This is why I would never be on this show. Because it seems like all they use now are the designers that ruin rooms (for ratings).
That is what the show should be called 'Designers that ruin rooms for ratings'.

At least the show's saving grace is that Frank is the other designer.

Had to share.

I didn't really mind the cardboard on the walls all that much......does that mean i have terrible taste?

It looked like it was put up sloppy. If it was neatly done I think it would have been ok. The cardboard furniture on the other hand has to go.

Thought it was AWFUL!!!

Even Paige who is usually diplomatic could not help but refer to it during Frank's pre reveal interview.

It did look like it was put up sloppy but then again the walls might have not been 100% smooth and that would affect the seams of each piece.

The furniture..ick. I say if a designer would never live in it (and Hildy has said her house is all white inside) then they shouldn't design it like that.

I love Frank. he's so cool!

I liked when she took a ton of flower heads and stapled them to the bathroom wall. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I saw the commercials for the episode, I thought of the FLOWERED bathroom too!! Was she the one who glued GRASS to someone's living room walls too?? I can't remember if it was her, but the people HATED it.

I LOVE VERN!!! And I think Frank would be fun to work with.

Hey, when you sign up for that show - you have to know what can happen.....
at least now they can invite people over and say - look at this crazy room....oh, and we were on tv!
i can't see how you can be mad at the designers when they do that....after all, the show is all about ratings and giving people different decorating ideas!

And Maribelle - Tom hated the cardboard walls too.....so i guess we won't be having htat in the new co-op!!

Excellente!!!

I told FH he can have his own room when we get a house and he can decorate it any way he wants. He's very into italian renaissance stuff and that's sooo not my taste. And he has these really cheezy mirror wall hangings of NYC skyline. Eek! Not in MY living room!

I didn't like the cardboard but I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. I think putting it on the ceiling was going too far. Was that furniture sturdy enough for people to sit in?

I know that when you sign up for TS you have to expect something completely off the wall. I wouldn't expect them to ruin the structure of the room. Go ahead paint the furniture neon green with polka dots. Do not HOT GLUE feathers or anything to the walls. IMO that borders destruction of property.

Exactly, Christine. I mean stapling up the cardboard is one thing, if you want to take it down it's relatively simple and hopefully not too obvious. But using nail glue? I mean Hildy must think everyone *has* to love her stuff and *never* think of taking it down. That, to me, is not a good interior designer. I just don't like her attitude (or Laurie's..she's the same way). Oh well.

I know one has to expect anything when they sign up for it. But I've seen the first season and they didn't go that crazy and I wonder if people who signed up months ago (or years ago) were looking at the first season and not expecting craziness of the other recent seasons but they are only being chosen now..

Oh well.

i love laurie's designs.....i think she has great taste in color! and i've loved every room she's ever done!
and i love the enthusiasm hildy has for her designs!
i actually love the enthusiasm they all have - that's why i watch the show!!
i think all designers are proud of their designs and that's why they think everyone will love them - it's part of the job......and part of their personalities.....
