Trading Spaces...Lori is annoying me!

Ugh! I love what she's doing to the room but does she have to keep saying how much things are costing and how expensive everything is...we know they're spending $50,000!!!!

Ty or Tai...I don't know how to spell his name is cracking me up with the jewelry and pimplike clothes!!!

I am even taping this for FI to show him how their attitudes change when they have a large amount of money in their budget

Anyone notice the size of the TV in Lori's room compared to the TV in Doug's room?

Lori's room was gorgeous I thought, but there was too much clutter. You could hardly walk in that room. Doug's kitchen was GORGEOUS!

I liked Doug's room much better and I think the people did also. Lori's room was so cluttered. The people looked a bit disappointed.

I think both rooms came out great but Lori's room had just a little too much going on. I thought the room was too small to have 2 conversation areas like that.

Did you hear what the couple that Lori was working with said about her when they were putting on the lampshades? I can't remember it exactly but it was something like $90 is a drop in a bucket for Lori!

She spends spends spends. And she couldn't find a good deal if she fell into it. Even on the $1000 rooms seh was spending $40 a yard on material. She could gave gotten a nicer rug (and why get a rug - ya just put down new flooring) the one she got (usually the kind she always gets) doens't shout out 'this is a $50,000 room'.

But how nice was Sony to give away all those electronics? The plasma tv's? NIIIICE.

I thought both rooms came out really nice...Lori's was a bit cluttered and needed a little more room to move aound in.

I caught that with the people saying $90 is a drop in the bucket for Lori...but she also said something about that crazy redhead screaming at them or something like that...

Definately loved what Doug did. I would have liked lighter walls or a darker counter top. I especially loved the plasma over the fire place. I couldn't handle having a $4900 couch in my living room. Not only do I have two kids, but am probably the biggest klutz

You know what I think the difference in the rooms were? You can see where $50,000 went in a kitchen. You can really make a beautiful kitchen with that amount of money. You really can't do much with a living room, other than buy lots of furniture. I usually love Laurie's rooms, but I did not care for this room too much. The floor was beautiful, but other than that I wasn't wowed.

Franksbride....FH can't stand Lori's vision and I'm not a huge fan either although tonight's room wasn't that bad - at least it's not brown or orange - but she is overdramatic and spends too much money. I near fell over when I heard she was $500 under budget! But why couldn't she have gotten a nicer rug? And why an $1800 chair that's stuck against a wall? Who's going to sit there? Put a small bookshelf there or soemthing. Waste of $ I think. I think she just likes spending oodles of $$$!!!!

I never ever see shows with Vern or Gen in them anymore. Alot of them are Lori/Doug. I think they get the most reactions from audiences though.

I love Vern though!

I wish Vern was doing that show.
I did like Doug's room much better. Not sure I would have chosen that color for walls.
I want new kitcen appliances in my kitchen.

The color Doug used on the wall wasn't for me otherwise I liked the room & loved the kitchen.

I didnt watch the whole thing. I was watching Cold Case and Law and Order....but I saw Dougs rooms at the end, and they looked Awesome. I loved the kitchen.....The walls were awesome too...and that Plasma tv was hot...So was the computer...

What did Lauries room look like?

I loved how Ty made a sarcastic joke about how Lori had leftover money in her budget, and she could have 'squeezed another piece of furniture in'. Too many knick knacks!! I hated Lori's room. It was SO CLUTTERED!! Who cares if the curtains are Italian silk, they look like something from Leave It To Beaver! ugh!!

I think the money went to much better use in Doug's rooms, but what I kept thinking was that they should have done more rooms of the house. I would be mad if it was me to have a $50,000 family room and the rest of my house was so-so.
IMO Laurie spent way too much on furniture in a house that has children and 2 big dogs...

Donna..I agree, I owuld never have spent $4500 on 1 couch. They were ok. I was alittle disappointed with her room. I think she spent $2800 on an antique chair??? I could buy something like that for $50

While I don't think Laurie's room was practical at all for a family with children and a dog, she really had no choice since she had to spend the $50K in one room. It's a shame they couldn't do more then one room in the house.

I can't believe that Sony donated all that equipment!

But IMO, it didn't seem to Trading Spacesish since they hired workers to do so much of the work.

I loved it!
The designers were so happy getting all that $$$ to spend. The capenters were great too. I felt bad for Amy when the sanding place ruined her table.

I thought Laurie put too much furniture in the room. I think she just got stuck with a small room so she tried to give the homeowners as much as she could. If it were my house I would probably take 1/2 of the furnishings out and do my LR over.

I love what Doug did with that LR/DR/FR. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the FR seating. Only 4 chairs! I think they have a few kids.

Overall I thought the show was fun and entertaining. I hope they do it again with Vern and Gen.
