Trains

how were the trains for u. mine wasn't as crowded as usual. some of it has to do with the threat and some with the holiday weekend. i was just cautious (sp) on the train. we can't give into the fear

My train was fine, didn't seem less crowded (I wasn't on my normal train) but everything was smooth, the only thing different I noticed was a cop car by the entrance.

Re: Trains

I decided not to take the subway last night and it took me over 20 minutes to get a cab at around 8pm last night near Grand Central. I think a lot of people didn't want to take the subway. I think I might take the bus today. I don't want to give in to the fear, esp. because this is an ongoing issue, but at the same time, I feel a little differently since this was a 'credible threat.' Too bad I'm too lazy to just walk to work!

I'm a little nervous. My husband takes the LIRR into Penn, then the subway down to Wall and works at the NYSE. He can't walk, and there's no way he's going to cab it every day and waste money. His attitude is just as it was during 9/11--no one is going to scare him out of doing his everyday routine...but I can't help but be nervous for him.... when I worked in the city I was definitely uptight.

i notice a lot more police officers, and their presence comforts me. i am not going to let the threat scare me into changing my routine.

I am not changing anything I do. We all have to go to work - I refuse to give in to the fear.

Re: Trains

Well my trains were empty too, and i was watching every carriage that came on..
The highlight of the day was they made us leave our building because there was a suspicious package across the street from my job.. Chaos.. it turned out to be nothing, a little too scary for me..
