Transportation

Hello all,
This is my first post. It's been wonderful reading all of your information - and amazingly helpful! Okay, here is my question that I am currently obsessed with... My wedding is in Oceanside on a Sunday evening. I do not think that most people will be staying in a hotel. The majority of my friends reside in Manhattan or their families live in Merrick. Should I not worry about tranportation for them or should I maybe think about transportation to the Rockville Center LIRR stop - which goes to Merrick and Manhattan???

Maybe you can ask around w/ the people that would be coming from the city - ask them how they plan to get to the wedding. If they say they don't have an idea, then you could ask if they would be willing to take the LIRR if you arranged for a shuttle bus or something. You never know, some people may have it figured out or may be planning on staying in a hotel or w/ friends or something. At least if you ask around you'll get a feel for what everyone is thinking.

I had a similar situation. I thought all of the manhattan folks may rent a limo or van or take LIRR to get them back to the city at the end of the night instead of staying over. We asked around and everyone told us they would stay in the hotel.

Just ask and see what they want to do. You may want to block out rooms at a hotel just in case.
