Travel Agent Question
Hi Ladies,For anyone using a travel agent for their honeymoon, how exactly does it work?? What is their fee? We are on the fence and would like a better idea before we go into an agency. Thanks!

Travel Agent Question - Long Island Weddings
We are using Katie from Ever After Honeymoons, its a $100 retainer that then gets used towards your HM so no fee really. She only works with budgets 6K or higher but is really nice! Check out her website

We used Liberty also and I do not recommend them. My agent was Lauren and she is now in the Massapequa office. She made promises that were not true and booked our inter-island flights in Hawaii on the worst airline.
When I received all the paperwork there were a ton of error and missing documents. It took 2 hours of going over with the manager to fix.

Travel Agent Question - Long Island Weddings
I absolutely recommend using a travel agent! There are no fees or costs to you, they do all the work and you'll most likely get free stuff thrown in. I was pleased with my agency....Ship to Shore travel. They did all the work and answered any questions plus gave us a spa credit as a gift.

Re: Travel Agent Question
We used Atlantic Travel in Mineola and loved them! Gave them my budget, places I didn't want to go, etc. They found me 5-6 options, discussed each one via email, picked one, left a deposit, and done! Super quick & easy.

Travel Agent Question - Long Island Weddings
I used Mike Giarretto and he was awesome!!! I believe someone here recommended me to him. I put him through hell with questions and changes. There is absolutely no fee and since it's his own company (he works from a home office) you get personalized attention. He's part of an Amex travel network so he gets you whatever extras he can through their extensive relationships. I know this sounds salesy, but I just loved working with him so much.I usually book my own vacations and never used a travel agent so I was reluctant to do so, but I had no time to search around and wasn't sure what I wanted to do from Fiji to Europe to the Caribbean to Hawaii. We are going to Hawaii, all name brand places and airlines and trust me I quadruple checked - we are getting the lowest rates available. I tried him, Liberty Travel and Travel Tom. Liberty was annoying because you could only talk to the person during their work hours so sometimes I had to wait days to hear back if she was out of the office and prices did go up in that time. Travel Tom didn't get my vision, he tried to sell me on places he was promoting on Facebook so I'm guessing he got better commissions for certain places. Mike was available 24/7 and very helpful. It doesn't hurt to just send an email and see what he can do - [email protected]

Travel Agent Question - Long Island Weddings
Our travel agent didn't charge us a fee. We've used them twice and never had to pay anything before.
