I am leaving Friday night to go to Brazil for work. The area I am traveling to isn't the safest and several people, including a co-worker who is from the area I am going to, told me not to bring my e-ring. I don't want to get mugged, but I have worn it for the last year since FH gave it to me. I am going to be so sad being away from FH for a week and not having my e-ring either.

i know how you feel.. i had to do that over the summer.. my finger felt so naked!! but you rather be safe then sorry and you'll have it back in no time!

I am having the same dilema, I am going to Spain on Thursday and I am not sure if I should bring my ring. I think you would be better safe than sorry. Especially in Brazil, we do business in Brazil too and I have heard that some parts are VERY dangerous. Wouldn't you rather not wear it for a week than to have something happen to it? Sorry, I don't mean to scare you!!!

Yes I would rather not wear it, which is what I have decided, I am just sad about it. FH suggested getting a fake and wearing that, but I was like people won't know it is fake and might mug me anyway.

This is true but you could get a very simple band for the finger just to have something on it something that was obviously not worth any money. I am having to do the same thing for a trip to Mexico. Parts of Brazil can def be 'challenging' Though Spain, depending on where you were going, it might be fine.

WHen we went to Curacao 2 weeks after getting engaged, we left the ring with my mother. It totally ****** not being able to wear it, but I must say the peace of mind was far better than having to worry about losing it or having it stolen. Our plane landed at 3 am and I was at my moms at 7:30 putting that ring back on!

Buy a fake ring with a small fake diamond. For our honeymoon, I purchased a fake set. I rather lose the fake one rather than the real one!
