tree removal
We are trying to get an estimate of removing a huge pine tree really close to the house. A friend said that it might cost 700-900 bucks. That can't be right!! Please someone tell me it should be a lot less!!!Thanks

Re: tree removal
I know there was a thread on here about getting trees removed for free by lumber companies but that was in NJ and i don't know of any in Long Island. My mother just had a tree removed and she got a good price. I don't know where they are but the name of the company is Cheap Charlie's Tree Removal.

Re: tree removal
Unfortunately it is very expensive. My FH used to do it part-time for a friend who has his own business. I believe they are called Complete Tree Service and they are in Ronkonkoma.

Re: tree removal
Absolutely call around!! We just had tree work done, and we got very different prices for each of the invidual items we needed done .. overall .. the total price of those individual tasks combined landed in the same ballpark for the most part .. but we couldn't understand how there could be such a difference from one company to another for taking this down, or trimming that, etc.Normally, if I was happy with service provided by a company, I would gladly post the business name and number .. however .. in this case, I am refraining. The work was done very nicely .. and I really liked the company because of it .. BUT .. since the bulk of the work was done .. my calls/questions have received a serious lack of respect .. from going weeks without a response .. to even being stood-up the very same day of confirming a meeting to inspect new issues/concerns that came up (totally unrelated to the work they did .. just something new I'm worried about). I mean seriously .. how do you tell someone you'll be there after a certain time, then don't show up, then don't even bother to call, then don't even return a message left on a machine?? Not returning phone calls is par for the course with this company.
