Tree Service Desperately Needed

Can anyone recommend a good tree service they have had direct experience with??? It's an emergency that needs to be dealt with ASAP. This service needs to be able to trim trees, cut down trees, remove stumps, etc.

I have used him several times as have my family + neighbors.

I've tried that number, but it doesn't seem to be working .. could it be they've gone out of business???

Thats weird(?!) I just saw his ad last week. I double checked the phone # for you in the phone book - its right.

He provides a cell # in his ad - its in one of the papers that comes in the mail every week - but Im not sure which one - and - of couse - I have none in my house right now to check for you.

I will scope the mail box for you this week to see if I can't find that #. Good luck!

Even if the tree in question is a little tree that seems to be diseased??? You would need a permit for something like that (in certain towns)????

What a pain!!! Of course, we were just looking to have that tree taken out, so a healthy one of a different kind could be put in.

But we definitely do need a tree surgeon to cut back our neighbor's tree that's ripping apart our house.

Anyone else with any other recommendations??

In our town you need a permit to blow your nose!!! The trees that we are taking down are all on our prooperty (2 in the backyard) not even on the curb and we still need a permit!!! The trees out front are both hollow inside!

It is such a pain and our neighbors warned us that people will drive by and yell mean things while we do it. People in our town are obsessed with trees!

My parents used a guy named Cheap Charlie's they were very good and Cheap. I dont have there # but I am sure they are listed If i remember correctly they were located in Suffolk

Be warned! We were going to use Cheap Charlies and they had 6 complaints with the BBB, 5 of them in 2003.

We used a company called Dank Tree Service 516-799-1331 - They cut down 2 trees, ground the stumps and elevated 5 of our oak trees. They price was very good compared to other places we got quotes from.

We actually got there # thru a neighbor and neither one of us had any problems and believe me we had a problem cutting a tree down years ago.

long story short lots of beer, crazy lady with a chain saw, 4 police cars, undercover cops, 1/2 dozen arrests, 2 roads closed and a tree cut 3/4 of the way thru the stump left over night and a ton of prays and a tree was finally removed by a professional that said my parents must have been personal friends with God b/c that is the only way the tree didnt fall throughout the night.
15 yrs later and the neighbors are still talking about it.

Elizabeth - I just want to make sure you were happy with Dank Tree Service .. did they seem to really know trees .. or just how to cut them down???

I really want to find someone who absolutely knows their stuff about trees .. one of the trees that needs work .. it belongs to our neighbor .. but is growing over into our yard and destroying part of our house .. anyway .. because this tree is our neighbors, I want to be especially careful on how this tree is treated.

All I'm saying is what I know froma recent call to the BBB. I put the info out there because I personally wouldnt knowingly use a company who had 6 complaints, 5 of which were very recent. Not with all the other choices out there.
